You mean well documented? Because they are.

People are products of their time. But you don’t get to try to destroy the reputation of everyone you don’t like without getting light shown on your past sins as well, you piece of human garbage.

Ok knock yourself out. Flagellate yourself. Renounce your forefathers. Tear down a statue . Virtue Signal at the nuclear level. Personally make financial reparations.

Then when you’ve done ALL that, ask yourself why nothing changed.

It really is mind-blowing that people used to think that way.

bro, that's NOT what i'm saying... like the Jefferson monument thing... i fully DON'T support that... that's stupid....

but i don't think it's a bad idea to see history for what it is, and try avoid the "bad" that we've had, while trying to steer towards the "good" that is in it...

Renounce your forefathers.

tbh, some of our forefathers weren't exactly great people.... i appreciate them for founding the US, but strictly as a person, some people were just not that good..

i think you may have gone a little too far on the spectrum of this conversation, but i guess you feel how you feel.... not sure how we got to this point in the conversation, but all i wanted to know was how did the letter make you feel...

honestly, that's a sad sight... i just really don't see how you can be a normal human being, read that letter, and not just feel absolutely sad and angry at the overall thought at the time...
Because I'm not retarded or ignorant enough to push 21st century values on some dude that grew up in the 20's in Louisiana?

sad, bruh... glad that MOST of us have evolved, adapted and changed our outlook, and have sought to better our world and the people that live in it...
WTF are you talking about? Not a single person in this thread has done a damn thing for equal or civil rights. That battle was fought before you were born. Also we didn't "adapt." We just happened to be born in a different time with different values. There is exactly a 100% chance that you would have had the exact same outlook on race had you been born in his place.

Whats mind blowing is that 90% of the OT still thinks they way. They might not come out and say it like Middleton did but its in their hearts.

The thing about the swimming pool is horrific. That’s pretty much a testament to just how awful a lot of people’s mindsets were back then.

This is the reason that BR City Park swimming pool was closed years ago and now filled in. If you ever come across a picture of white and black kids in the same pool, i'd like to see it, because any video, I ever see of BR park pools I see plenty of black kids in the pool, but I never see any white kids in the pool with them.

My family has a family tomb in Greewood Cemetery in NOLA. I recently came across the deed to the tomb and it states on the deed that only Caucasians could be buried in Greenwood

If you ever work in real estate/titles/abstracts in older parts of the South you'll find tons of those clauses. The good news is fed discrimination law makes all those easy to ignore.

Nice fake quotes.

The Lincoln quote is real. Even ultralib snopes can't deny it.

Viewing the people of Louisiana in 1961 using the morals and knowledge of 2019. It is dumb to hold people in 1961 accountable like this. That is how we end up with book burning etc...

You talk as if 1961 was thousands of years ago. 58 years is not that far back. There are still people alive today from that era that haven't changed one bit.

It was before everyone in this thread was born. In 69 years the youth of the day will be quoting some dumb shite you said and talking about how horrible of a person you were.
