Situation report...

Planting, growing, babying trees for shade at RV Park. I plant, water, fertilize, I sing these trees to sleep at night.. I have planted, Red Maples, Silver Maples, Oconee, Sturart, Choctaw Pecans, Pine and Burr Oak trees.

Working with 57 yo man.

Mission to cut small limb hanging from tree so that RV can pass through without damage.

Small limb about 4 inch in diameter hanging down needs cut. Larger limb about 18 inch round growing straight up about 50 feet high right next to it.

I turn my back for one brief moment and which one does the guy cut? You guessed it. The 18 inch round limb going straight up about 50 feet.

Now this idiot has killed off over 1/3 of a living and mature pecan tree about 100 years old. When all he had to do was saw just a little limb hanging down.. When shade and trees are top priority.

I am absolutely sick about it, and I truely wonder about the stupidity of some people.

Cheer me up.. Please and Thank You.

please do not post ________ (Fill in the blank, but I know somebody is going to do it.)

This is why you give help hand saws instead of chainsaws.

Thanks for hiring him.

If you hadn't, he may have been hired on by someone else and outfitted with a stick of dynamite.

See, you've helped someone and didn't know it.

There is nothing worse than Mexican tree cutters working for electric companies. They will cut or poison mature dogwood trees that aren't going to grow anywhere near the power lines. Ask me how I know.

Oh how well I know... You see a tree that's been there 100 years.. an idiot cuts it down when he was supposed to cut down the sapling next to it...

What do you get? "Oh, I'm sorry"

Oh well, that makes it all better... I'll run down to Wal_Mart and go buy another 100 year old tree.

I even told this clown which limb to cut... ugghhhh

i would be apoplectic, i get depressed when storms do it, only thing worse is negligence. i had to barricade a big live oak near the street from the entergy tree cutters those frickers were heading straight for it. required an engineer to come over and assess. i watch them like a hawk now

Younger people were hired so that they could get on top of a ladder with a chainsaw... But your right.

You are therer for one reason. To cut a limb hanging down.

One little limb hangs down, one giant limb goes up towards the sky with 300 pounds of brush and leaves.

You would think... But.. Some people don't think.

People are extremely stupid.

Sort of the same thing happened to me but he didn’t kill the tree. Told him specifically not to cut a certain limb. I went to do something and he cut it anyway along with some others.

Next time, watch them as they work. Pain in the arse but I watch everyone that does work for me. I also try to do everything myself because if I have to watch them, I might as well do it.

Same exact thing, only I did not walk away.. It happened so fast. I yelled NO.. NO... But he sawed so far into the limb so fast that it was too late.

The limb is still there. But cut over halfway thorugh. It has to come down now because it is a threat and will fall in the next windstorm.

I'll try to get a video if I can... Very disheartening when you spend years talking care of these trees only to have an idiot do more damage in 1 minute than 50 years of storms... Expecially in an extremely hot summer climate desperatly needing shade.

Thanks for the replies all... at least I did learn a few things and will do a better practice in the future.
