She was deeply miserable and killed herself.

They all are.

Because they know those accomplishments aren't real

She said her dead son was the only person who ever loved her unconditionally.

Hell of a thing to say while leaving three other kids behind.

But it may have been true or just another manifestation of her batshit craziness.

He was a very holy person but there is a mountain of evidence that he turned a blind eye towards a lot of the abuse that was happening. I think it is debatable how much he knew vs. what he knew and didn't act on but I know he was personally close and friends with Marcial Maciel Degollado, the founder of the Regnum Christi movement and he was one of the most vile and evil abusers in the history of the Catholic Church. So did he protect them? Was he just naive? Did he do enough to protect the innocent? Those are fair questions as time goes on. He himself was a great man but did he fail by not acting on what he may have known?

I can’t believe she made it this long. Have you listened to her music? That chick was super sad.

Since having hit pop albums is your idea of a real life accomplishment, I guess that I just can't compete.

However, I don't suck at life and have no desire to kill myself like the accomplished Ms. O'Connor did. Where she is now I doubt those "accomplishments" will count for much.

Why don't you list your life accomplishments ? I would love to know how many pop albums that you have sold.

It's not great for our culture that every death thread immediately devolves into whether the person sucked or not and whether we care that they died.

I kind of understand it when it's someone's death where we'll be inundated with coverage and "made to care," but I don't think this is that. I also throw in a slight caveat that this is a Louisiana board with way more Catholics than you might see anywhere else in a sampling of the Southeast.

But nonetheless, our inclination to immediately take sides over anything/everything has to be a bad thing.
