I think I will coin a term for this..... how about "white flight"?

Shreveport’s biggest problems

1. CRIME
2. White Flight
3. Chasing city limits while allowing the inner city to go to crap- Bossier, I hope you’re paying attention.

Schools are Parish, so I can’t really include them

Alajones2 and I are going back to Huntsville when alajones4 graduates. I’m going to miss Louisiana, but it is what it is.

Shreveport is a shithole. But that study is kinda misleading. People are leaving Shreveport, but not moving out of the area. Bossier, Keithville, Haughton, Benton and even Blanchard are growing so fast that they can’t keep up.

It’s definitely the Great White Flight. For the most part, the only whites left in Shreveport are Hipsters and Retirees.

Stonewall is now absorbing the flight out of Shreveport/Caddo Parish.

Shreveport's main problems besides Crime is also the lack of jobs. The City of Shreveport and Caddo Commission seem to not give a rats arse.

In most places that happened 40 years ago and today people are moving back into the cities. Shreveport is just half a century behind the rest of the country

Why?

What is a good selling point for BR, in your opinion?

I moved from Louisiana to New England. I regularly drive through Manchester, NH which is considered to be a shithole and armpit of the entire region. I can tell you that this town is worlds better in every measurable category than any comparable sized city Louisiana has to offer. Louisiana is a shite hole that keeps electing politicians based on race.

This is some serious arse grasping right here, and btw speaking of, what you don't have is a building that held the distinction of being the tallest in the South for about two decades.

It's good that you are proud of your little cookie cutter skyline though.

I legitimately laughed out loud when I read that. Someone from Shreveport trying to puff their chest out over their “skyline.”

Sadly hysterical.

I think it quite humorous that SouthLa people constantly shat on S’port & north La....especially from Refineryville of all places. The only saving grace of BTR is LSU, that’s it. I travel extensively all over our illustrious state & NO ONE from LC, Lafayette to NOLA can brag about where they live. Sport has its fair share of problems, starting w/ decades of crime & poor leadership, but it has a lot of nice parts too. Plus the infrastructure (interstate access, loops, parkways, greenspace, etc is the best in state.
Unfortunately, after seeing less than 2 years of DumbA$$ Adrian Perkins, more & more people than can afford it, will continue to bolt to Bossier, Haughton, Stonewall. Also, I see the Ellerbe Rd, Norris Ferry, Southern Loop area break away & form their own little town like St. George.

Once LSU football is gone Baton Rouge has nothing to offer. Peace out.
