Saw them running off the bum on Florida under I-110 yesterday. Maybe something is finally being done.

Those are the same cops that locked their keys inside of their cruiser at CFA on College.

Same in N.O. Just about every major intersection will have 3-4 of these types working the red lights----and I use the term "working" in jest.
Seems the more the city officials tolerate this crap, the more show up with their signs. Use to be "Will work for food", but that was proven to be BS by those that offered them work for food.
Now I see a ton of "Veteran down on my luck" signs to appeal to the more patriotic types. Well, if you're a vet and down on your luck, re-up and be all you can be.

The EBRSO needs to step up and match BRPD by running the bums off Siegen Lane at I-10.

Was it the guy that always has like a circle of collected junk set up like a room and talks to it?

That guy on left is out there all the time. Getting on the interstate at College this morning, didn't see any

Because that will look super when it goes viral online.

I'd love to see some permanently-mounted, interstate-grade road signs that read, "DON'T FEED THE BUMS. VIOLATORS WILL BE FINED $250"

Was recently in Salt Lake City, and they have these signs everywhere downtown:

The old man on Bluebonnet and Perkins will walk between cars and even knock on your window. If you tell him no he gets pissed. He stood in the middle of a lane the other day and all the cars were having to drive around him. They need to tag these people like sharks and track them on an app. We have plenty of old abandoned grocery stores in town. Just give them all a key and let them live there with food delivery at the end of every restaurant shift with leftovers. But keep them off the streets.

Athens, GA has them too. As an alternative, they have a little money slot if people want to donate. The money gets distributed to different social service programs. This is the way it needs to be done! Why? Probably not for the reason you're thinking. It's not about not being bothered by panhandlers. It's about actually trying to help them.
Talk to anyone who works in the non-profit and/or social service sector. They will all tell you the same story. "We wish we could help more people, but we can't go and round them up off the streets. They have to come to us voluntarily."
Our states and municipalities have such generous social and welfare services. But in many cases they go underutilized because people are paying panhandlers to stand on the street corner. In the vast majority of cases, these people don't need cash. They need addiction counseling, or to finish their GED, and things like that.
Professionals who are in the trenches with these cases are driven crazy by people who keep giving money to panhandlers despite the signs.
Also, (and I know this sounds harsh) you have to get it through your head that for lots of these "homeless" people, standing on the corner is their job. And some of them actually make pretty damn good money doing it. The Athens-Clarke County police did an "audit" a few years back of panhandlers to identify the most serous trouble-makers. They estimated that one of the guys who they identified as an "aggressive pan-handler" was making $60,000/year!
You are not helping them. You are enabling them.
Think of it this way...if you had an alcoholic brother/mother/whatever would you try to help them simply by giving them money? Hell no.
By giving someone in those circumstances cash, you are not helping them. You are hurting them. You are only helping yourself by trying to give yourself "feel good" points.

Thank God. Need to get a handle on these frickers. Get off on the College exit and they're right there (usually in teams of two) at the light.. turn left onto College.. they're right there at that light.. turn right onto Corporate.. they're right there in the median.

This. There was a woman in scrubs the other day at the corner of Corporate and College with a sign. It looked like a coworker was waiting at the bus stop playing on her phone because she was wearing the same scrubs. No doubt she was trying to score a few bucks before the bus came. And people are dumb enough to give these people money.

There is a 0% chance the property owners would willingly let a homeless camp be set up on their property....
