Nope. Should have only certain "government approved nutritional items" available for purchase.

Which we all know won't have any beef associated with it.

Not really. An MRE is a day's worth of calories.

Most people in Walmart consume 10,000 calories a day. Why do you think they need scooters to get around?

I don't know how it works as far as distribution, but if there is a limited allotment, then they can buy what they please. After they run out, they must wait until time for renewal.

How about this? All they get are giant sacks of rice and beans. Subsistence food. No reason they should be shopping, continuing to make poor choices.
im all for this. Give them just enough to get by and that's it. No fancy meals just enough to live on. It might motivate to get off of them.

Only people with pride. I doubt many on food stamps have pride.

lets say you get $100 bucks a week or so in food stamps. If you want to blow your weekly allotment on a couple lobsters and steak then so be it. Darwin doing work. Wont be alive to much longer if you keep going on like that

Well our government has no fricking clue what it's talking about when it comes to nutrition so that would be a terrible idea. Aside from most fat fricks having no self respect or personal resposibility as the root cause, no.2 in line for that is the governments ignorance to what "health food" is and their agenda to sell us more corn.

And maybe a bag of leg quarters once a month as a treat. I'm all for a commodity system.

I truly hope that all the high and mighty that have such disdain for people on welfare don't go through it. As having been there myself, while you are looking down your noses, us little people that have lost their jobs, fallen on hard times because of large medical bills, etc. will be looking up at you. Remember this, your boogers are showing. You really aren't all that and a bag of chips.

Be careful...you might just end up needing the food stamp program yourself one day....

It's probably been covered in the 9 pages, but the government puts out the food pyramid, or whatever it's called now. Folks getting free food should only be allowed what's on this list and in the quantities suggested.
Imagine the benefits : lower health care costs, help farmers growing vegetables, etc. saving money for the system.

Seems too easy a solution.
