"he that will not work shall not eat"
If this law was good enough for the first colonists, then it should be good enough now.
In the spring of 1609, John Smith cited the aphorism to the colonists of Jamestown:
Countrymen, the long experience of our late miseries I hope is sufficient to persuade everyone to a present correction of himself, And think not that either my pains nor the adventurers' purses will ever maintain you in idleness and sloth...
...the greater part must be more industrious, or starve...
You must obey this now for a law, that he that will not work shall not eat (except by sickness he be disabled). For the labors of thirty or forty honest and industrious men shall not be consumed to maintain a hundred and fifty idle loiterers.[4]

If corporations can use tax payer money for extravagant items why can't the common folk?

Every time the Robertson clan films another episode of “Duck Dynasty,” Louisiana is on the hook for nearly $330,000, at last count.
During the past three years, state taxpayers agreed to fork over nearly $700,000 to Wal-Mart to build new stores in two affluent suburbs.
And when Valero announced an expansion of its Norco operations, creating 43 new jobs, Louisiana promised to cover $10 million of the cost, or nearly a quarter of a million dollars per job.

Welfare is broken. The current system needs to be replaced with a "negative income tax" or guaranteed income.

So he says 1% is only abusing food stamps. Well if only 1% but I think the number is much higher than that are abusing food stamps then I'll put some numbers out for you. Approximately 47 million people in the US are on food stamps. If 1 % are abusing the system that is 470,000 people. That is roughly the population of New Orleans. The Avg. US citizen receives $125 a month in food stamps. That is $58,750,000 a month and $705,000,000 for the year. I don't know about you but I just found almost a billion dollars in waste if the government is letting 1% ride free on the food stamp program. I really think the number is much higher than that but that is his 1 %.
