I think the 4 digit number scares them. It's a psychological thing.

Are you retiring in the next year or so? If not, leave it alone and you’ll be fine.

Just last week, my wife was talking about how her portfolio was looking strong and it may be time to increase contributions.

Depends on when you invested in the gold. If you bought in 2012, you were singing a different tune just 10 short years ago. Your chart conveniently left off that crash.

I invest in 68-71 B and E body mopars instead of the market. Much less volatility.

I sold everything. Don’t want to look back on this day in 30 years when I retire and think to myself I almost lost it all that day.

An 89% gain over 10 years is complete dogshit lmao. I’d cry myself to sleep if I was invested in gold.

Who’s looking at their 401 k? You retiring soon? No one was saying look how good my 401k has been the last few months. I love days like the last few.

Look at it as a buying opportunity.

This.

It’s just a whole bunch of reactionary “traders” panicking. Do the opposite and you’re fine long term.

As a friend of mine who did well in the market tells people: "If you can't take the heat, get out.". And I bet he's buying soon.

It'll grow back. Don't panic sell. If ya liked the stock at $100 you should LOVE it at $50. Assuming you made investments based upon underlying financial health of the companies.

Its clearance sale time. Question is, how long does the drop last.

I retired last week. I'm not worried. I've got money put aside to take advantage of discounted markets, but I only trade at the end of quarters so I'll wait and see how it settles.

If you think you’re going to need your money in the next 5-10 years, your portfolio should be way less aggressive.
