Should the ability to change out a tire be a basic requirement for all men?

Long story short, one of my female coworker friends (no pics) told me that the guy she's dating blew a tire on the way to work this morning, and she feels bad that she can't help him. I asked her, "does he not have a spare?" She goes, "yes, but he's on the side of the road." I said, "so he doesn't know how to change a tire?" She huffed, "why does that even matter?"

Am I an a-hole for implying that this dude's manliness should be questioned for not being able to change a tire? Or are we just sadly headed in that direction as a generation?

No. Every self-respecting man should know how to change a tire. It's not difficult at all.

No but you're probably an a-hole for other reasons though.

No. Real men walk, take public transit or ride horses. Soft men rely on cars.

I've changed many tires, but at some point, the risk isn't worth it. There are way too many distracted drivers, and it's too easy for a car to fall of the Jack.

Let someone without a high school degree change your tire.

Is she pregnant and planning to raise the baby with 4 dudes?

If not, we can call this one a win.

I was in a parking garage in Dallas and saw a guy struggling to break the nuts (TWSS) on his rim to change a flat. I put the lug wrench on there, stood on it, and broke it free. He said "Goddamnit, I didn't even think of that".

I don't understand how someone can't figure out how to change a tire if you don't already know. Sure the jack might get a little tricky but the actual tire changing is not hard to figure out

I don't think it has anything to do with "manliness", but more to do with being prepared

Any person that drives a vehicle routinely should know how to change a tire

Its just common sense

The first step in solving solving a problem is admitting you have one

before my mom could get her drivers license my grandpa required her to rotate the tires on my grandma's 1967 station wagon.

no pics. they are old as shite now. but if I had pics of my 16 year old mom doing that I would post them (that would have been 1969ish)

Being able to change a tire should be a requirement to get a license.

Most car manuals will tell you. I had to use my girlfriend's (now wife's) manual to figure out where I should put the jack on her car. It basically spells it out for you. It's not rocket science.

Yes.

Some of these “ males” ( don’t know if pronoun is correct ) probably don’t know how to use a can of. fix-a-flat.
