A couple fatalities recently in my area.

One guy was riding his ‘lay back’ style bike near the extremely busy intersection of a 4-lane highway with heavy truck traffic.

The other was on a highway in the very early morning hours with low-light conditions.

“Share the Road”

I hate those frickers. Rural state highways with no shoulders are not the place for a cluster of 10-20 cyclists at a time to be riding. I’m surprised far more of them don’t get hit, honestly.

agreed. They should ride down busy urban streets.

The saying should be "Go the speed limit"

I'll share with them when a portion of the bike costs goes to fix the roads.

Two weeks ago on our way back from Ft. Morgan we passed a guy on one of those recumbent bikes riding along the hwy to Gulf Shores. Less than 3 ft off the ground and no flags or markers indicating he was there.

Probably the dumbest move cyclists do is weaving back towards traffic or passing people on sidewalks going 10-15 MPH.

but need to SHARE THE ROAD even though they are going a good 20 mph below the speed limit and are out there purely for recreation. Recreation that holds up people actually trying to get places. They have the RIGHT to hold you up for their slow, pointless ride.

Then we have to shell out money that is badly needed for thousands on the roads, on bike paths for the 10 fruitloops that want to bike to work.

you: "get off the road!"

cyclists: "ok, can we have a bike path so we don't have to get on the road?"

also you: "NO!"

I strongly support building bike paths on the side of roads... what pissed me off is when they built them around Shreveport, there was video taken of some dipshit still riding dead center of the road at 10 mph while there was a perfectly good bike path to his right. Of course the bike riding community jumped to defend him and his RIGHT to still do that

i have nothing against cyclists but we all know there are some pretty crappy drivers out there. I would never want to be on a busy section of rode on a bike.
