Been reading that guy's tweets. He keeps saying how Europe does it better but no mention of the fact that they have Autobahns. Much like guns we have a moron problem not a car problem.

Only limit it on chargers, challengers and Camaros

I'm sure a LEO exemption is needed. Because they would never abuse it, are far more equal and more qualified then 'citizens'.

Shhhh...they get real ornery when you point out the hypocrisy.

The dems and Biden made this mandatory in the 2021 omnibus spending bill. GOP tried to repeal it a few weeks ago but Dems and RINOs voted against it. Buy a new vehicle before 2026.
Eh, will wait and see on that. There is no real deadline and the technology doesn't really exist.
Will probably end up like the Real ID.

Just move out of the left lane for me. It’s not your job to police my driving. I drive safely, but I drive fast on the interstate.

Nope, I'm on my computer.
I do realize that I carry around a device that can spy on me to a large extent (though I take steps to mitigate that as much as possible), yet it can't interfere with my actions.

You have never once seen me post anything negative about brothers having fun.
Quit being a shite stirring twat.

Are you really equating drag racing and donuts to simply driving fast on the interstate?
>100 mph is not just "driving fast on the interstate". There's a difference.

I'm no hypocrite. I'd rather a thousand brothers in chargers than a single lily white limp wristed wannabe nanny who believes himself to know better for them.

In a libertarian paradigm, obviously not. As a libertarian living in a decidedly non-libertarian society, considering the constant onslaught of nanny state bullshite, I’m genuinely surprised this hasn’t already happened.
They are putting damn kill switches in vehicles beginning in 2026.
Thomas Massie proposed an amendment to remove this from one of their giant bills and 8 Republicans votes against it including Garret Graves.

This is one of those rare situations where I think common sense is overwhelming my libertarian instincts.
And in five years time, the government will be dynamically controlling the speed that you can drive at, at all times.
And eventually, they will limit the times when you can drive, and where you’re allowed to drive.
You can see that with the Chinese social credit system.
If you care about personal freedom, technology invariably a bad thing.

No one is even talking about how incompetent our government is. How about when their Speed Control Software crashes or gets hacked and it won't let any cars drive on the interstate nationwide? Or only lets us go 5mph?

What does libertarian have to do with a speed limit question?
Wow. Everything really is political these days.
Setting speed limits on public roads has nothing to do with libertarianism (the fact that there are public roads excepted...). Public roads aren't the only places a vehicle can be driven. Mandating that private vehicles be limited to a certain speed, and therefore limiting that vehicle's ability to go faster than that on private property, absolutely would fail under a libertarian NAP analysis.

Less government. Don’t try to enforce laws by regulating companies. Enforce the laws when someone breaks them. Next thing you know, nobody will need to have more than X amount of ammo because common sense says so.
I’d have no issue if the car manufacturer regulated this, but not the government.
