My parents are watching my kids during the week because we don’t have anyone else to do it and we are still working. But otherwise there are the only people we see socially.

My sons who are 27 and 22 are welcome to come for lunch if they choose to. We’ve been around both as we were all helping the 27 year old move into his new house as well as weekends helping with repairs.
I made sure they know we’re good with whatever they choose.

You could be spreading other germs besides covid. The meal you eat with them could have too much fat/cholesterol/sugar/carbs and you are sending them to an early grave.
I love my parents....which is why I’m not risking their health for my selfish motives to see them.
How fricking selfish of you.

I haven’t stopped partying with friends and neighbors since all this started.

quote:Yeah! Wait to see them when school is let back in! We will definitely have a vaccine by August and the governors will say it’s perfectly safe for 500+ children to get together 5 days a week. No germs/viruses will spread then for sure. Everyone will be much much safer. Good call.
ETA: to clarify....I’m not saying avoid family forever....just right now.

Unless you’ve all been in isolation for the last two weeks, or will be in isolation for two weeks afterwards, you’re doubling the risk you pose to yourself and others.

Yeah. Their chances go from 0.00003% to 0.00006%. How will they ever survive.

You are getting downvoted from both sides. Downvoted by people who think you are being irresponsible, and downvoted by people who think you should do what you want and shouldn't care what your neighbors think.

Petty people do petty things. They don't give a damn about you when there is no virus, your business is no concern.

Without a vaccine this risk never ends. I am not saying it’s ok to throw a rager or open bars up. It just appears that the risk now will be the same risk in 30 days.

No. But where does one draw the line?
Depends on who one is. This one draws it at his in-laws.

Well my parents are choosing not to come but my wife’s are fine with it. They have been stuck at their house for a month. They asked and we said were fine as kind as they are

It will be 4 adults and 2 kids. Hell we sit in the yard 6 or 7 of us every evening having beers. Though we are 10 ft apart
Posted on 4/7/20 at 7:15 am to Dale Doubak
For room for 2 more?
I’ll bring some beers and cocktail sauce.

These are the types of decisions where people come back and say they ****** up.

Saying it’s fake=ignorant
Being afraid to hang out with parents now, but will be ok in 30 days when the govt frees you=illogical fear

Did you see the responses on Twitter to the MLB’s plan which is SUPPORTED BY THE CDC to restart the season? You had blue check journalists freaking out over games even being considered in May. This is what people have turned into and why politicians overreacted in the first place and don’t have a plan to get things back to normal. There will be no situation where the media will be okay with things returning to normal. There will always be a “risk” and we have to be hysterical about it. Politicians gave into that hysteria already so how the hell are they supposed to justify changing course? Since we are talking baseball, it reminds me of the BBCOR bat standards put in place. The NCAA turned down the bats to the extent that they nearly ruined college baseball. But it was all done in the name of safety so there was no turning back. Their only variable they still had control over was the ball, so they basically allowed it to be juiced.

I wish my parents would understand this
we had to cancel my 1 year olds bday party but now my Mom is talking about have a 3 kid bday party (my 1 year olds, 7 year old, and twin neices) at the end of May
they are 70 and my Dad has heart issues, so I'm respecting their decisions, but they aren't making much sense when they are already talking about having a huge party in May
