I started typing a long arse response to this but it's not worth it. Move to China....you'd probably like it better there.

It is fricking scary how quickly many of them go bad. One minute doing ok....next being intubated and put on a vent. And scary how some are not overweight, not old, and no medical history....and doing really bad on a vent and not looking like they will make it.

No offense but I don’t beleive you

You told people how they don’t love their parents if they go see them, then you went straight to how you see perfectly healthy young people getting very sick

You virtue signal, I have a signal for bullshite

The virus isn’t going anywhere parents will still be at risk when you see them 6 months from now.

Point being this thing is fricking scary if you are one of the unlucky ones to get seriously affected by it.

Her reasoning is awful. Under her theory she won’t see her parents for 12-18 months

If there is one thing I’ve learned (or just seriously reenforced what I already knew) from this whole coronavirus shite, it’s that no matter what the frick you do or what the hell is going on, most people will have an opinion about it one way or the other and NONE of them are qualified to say shite about it

frick the public. That’s what covid19 taught me. Social media is an absolute shite show at the moment

Yeh, we know

But the reason for social distancing is to keep the spread manageable across society so hospitals don’t get overloaded

If your goal is to ensure you don’t give it to your parents, you will have to stay isolated from your parents for 12-18 months until the vaccine comes around

If my parents are gonna get this....I would rather it be later....when we have a much better handle on how to treat this (not talking about a vaccine cause reality...that’s a long ways off). Right now we are still just basically throwing whatever at this and hoping something will work.

Glad she got to see those grandkids. Just crazy out here but I believe it's a touch much.

We have to be creative to stay outdoors, socially distanced and sanitized but are having the kids and grand kids over for Easter and Easter egg hunting. If it’s a crappy day, we’ll probably have to cancel.

I would imagine the random 65 year old has just as much chance of having a heart attack or stroke as they do catching the virus and then dying from it right now

So the thought of you personally giving your parents the virus and them dying is just as likely as you isolating from them for months and they die in that time period while you weren’t in touch

couldn't agree more.

Actually it’s more rare

We are talking about you yourself having the virus with no symptoms. And then you go to your parents and you personally without symptoms are the one that gives them the virus

And then after that they are one of the unlucky few that dies from it. Those odds are astronomically low

And waiting a few months isn’t going to better those odds for your parents. In fact, you likely increase your odds of giving them the virus as you will have begun working and going out more again

I don't give a shite what people do on their own property. Just don't bring your family of 7 to the grocery store and we good.

Should I feel bad about having my in-laws over for Good Friday?

Just gonna be me and the wife and two 61 yrs olds. Both no health issues. Was gonna boil crawfish and visit

No you shouldn't feel bad at all, unless you are a practicing Catholic. Good Friday, like Ash Wednesday, is a day of abstinence AND fasting in the Catholic faith. A crawfish boil---a feast-- kinds of goes against the idea and spirit of that.

If you're not a practicing Catholic, then by all means go ahead. Don't believe the hype.

Hey, you're preaching to the choir here. I agree with all of that.

In my case, my mom is not interested in taking any chances. She's 68 and I'll respect her wishes.

She's married and not alone at least. She'd probably make the corona outfits thread if she had to go into a store

If OPs in laws don't care, I don't see the problem. They know the risks even if they are low.
