Thanks lsunurse. Was talking to a friend who is a icu nurse in New Orleans and he was telling me stories about what’s he’s seeing at work and it sounds like some crazy shite. People coming in and just needing to be monitored and next you thing you know they are quickly transferred to the ventilator and then dead. He reiterated what you said, it’s tough because you feel there isn’t much you can do and this thing hits hard and fast with very little protocols to follow. Unfortunately you run into a lot of baws on here who think this is all just an overreaction and they should keep living life like normal. Talking to friends who are nurses in hard hit areas, this is some scary shite and I commend you for everything you’ve been doing.

In fact, you likely increase your odds of giving them the virus as you will have begun working and going out more again
This is what worries me. My contact won’t ever be as limited than they have for the past three weeks.

I started typing a long arse response to this but it's not worth it.
You're right. It isn't worth it.
You'd say something stupid and I'd make sure you knew you were stupid for saying it.

People that have been saying home and not going to work etc etc are at their least likely time to give the virus to someone else
In let’s say 1 month when the govt eases restrictions, that doesn’t magically make the virus go away. As you go about your more normal routine, you will be more likely to transmit the virus to someone else, not less. But alas, people will feel less guilty I suppose because the govt told them it’s ok?

I saw this exact scene at a house in Metairie last weekend. Was bike riding around the neighborhood and couldn’t stop laughing.

Obviously not when you just parrot what people who posted just ahead of you.

Yup. You just proved my point. Thanks, baw.

Well, she was talking to me, so I thought I would be courteous and reply back without reading what others said. But thanks for the input, baw.

Well why double their chances of dying? If chances are the same getting the virus and having a heart attack, you just doubled their chance of dying by exposing them. Don’t like those odds myself.

That is fine. But that is the only way for you to be following any logic

Right, baw. What a stupid overused word, but you fell right in.

So far, so good. Thanks!

I’ve had people over every Friday the last 3 weeks. Nothing from my neighbors, I think they agree it’s bs
Had a couple of friends over 2 weeks ago, visited a different couple this past weekend.
I also haven’t been shopping, which IMO is worse than a visit with a couple friends.

Just doing my part to shield the world from stupidity.
Cheers.

I love my parents....which is why I’m not risking their health for my selfish motives to see them.
It definitely makes sense that you aren’t seeing your parents. You’re going to a facility daily that has cases of the virus. That is a much different situation than someone like myself, who has stayed home for the majority of these last 3 weeks.
The same “rules” shouldn’t be applied to everyone.
