It should depend on both ownership and residency

You could build a fortress on this reasoning, so sound, so convincing.

Again, if only property voters can vote, there is inventive to create inequitable taxing policy.

Should being allowed to vote on propertytax issues

Well thank goodness for private donors for fighting this inequity and helping the kids that can’t read good and wanna do other things good or we may never have read your message.

We need to go back to the practice of being allowed to vote period being contingent on property ownership.

A government employee that owns property is not a net taxpayer because their money came from taxes. What they own is actually from taxpayers and should not even be considered theirs. They should not have any votes either.

How much property does one need to own in order to vote in your scenario?

How many houses do you actually own outright, and where do you actually live? If you own and rent out homes in Louisiana but vote in California does it really matter? This issue has always been a slippery slope.

Hell, I believe those that don’t pay taxes shouldn’t be allowed to vote. They have no skin in the game, so why should they be able to vote for folks that will raise my taxes? So they can get more handouts? F ‘em.

Also, mail in ballots and ballot drop boxes are bullshite and should be outlawed.

No

Most of your property taxes go to funds roads and schools. Kids can not vote so your point is moot.

This is why we can’t have reasonable debates.

Where does this end?

For example, if I own 25% of the property in a tax district, do I get only 1 vote?

Yes, but I also believe you should have to have a penis to vote as well, so my vote probably doesn’t count.

You think renters aren't affected when property taxes go up?

I’d be willing to bet that renters are impacted more than owners by property tax hikes, because rentiers often use these hikes to tack on additional rent increases and blame the government.

I don’t know about you, but the bank owns my house. I really think they should be paying the property tax.

So you think that the only people who own property are… nvm. There is no point in having a discussion with an idiot.
