To each their own. I am just not willing to be caught in the crossfire so I am moving to a safer town. Better weather is also a big draw too though!

Yes, I agree. It’s a concern of mine, but not something that keeps me from going places. NOLA and BR (being the capital city) has always had its fair share of crime. I started graduate school at LSU during the serial killer years -

Leave Baton Ruin while you have the chance. Get to St. George as fast as you can. BR is a sinking ship, run by thugs and crooks. A toxic dump and dystopian wasteland. And if you are fair complected you will be forced to atone for your sins while city hall loots everything not nailed to the ground. Maladapted feral animals are running hog-wild over the place. It would take an army of Dirty Harry Callhan's to clean this dump up. The chief of police does not have the stomach to do what is necessary.

I have a vastly different memory than you of Baton Rouge today vs 30 to 40 years ago. I'm almost 50 years old and I can tell you crime was way worse in the mid 80s and early 90s than it is today.
