Exactly. Not sure what he’s referring to. I’m not one to exaggerate and I know this is a message board, but I’ve never heard anyone else make that claim.

The city population has been fairly stagnant for 40 years so raw murder numbers are a pretty fair indicator.

No, no it wasn't, your memory is faulty.

Looks like he had a bad motorcickle accident in 2013 when he would have been 19-20 in Colorado Springs. There's a Prayers for Aaron FB Page and all. This is a big ole stretch but.... if that is the same Aaron it is quite possible his problems stemmed from addiction following that accident.

Just ole fashioned OTer speculation.

His grandmother he murdered has a Facebook Page and it's downright awful to see that sweet old ladies face now.

There are two “Prayers for Aaron” FB groups, both concerning a motorcycle accident. One of them is almost certain to be this guy, in appearance, and from Baton Rouge. I use FB app so can’t link the page.

Yeah almost certain it’s the same guy. And I didn’t actually see his moms name released yet in any articles today?

Sure, this is a graph from the FBI's web site utilizing violent crime data from 1986 to 2019 (FBI hasn't published the 2020 data yet as far as I can tell). As you can see in the graph, the violent crime rate in Baton Rouge was substantially higher in the mid 80s through the mid 90s.

You’re getting downvoted, but the murder rate in the early nineties for Louisiana was historically the highest it had ever been until maybe now.

As I recall Baton Rouge was having serious issues. Maybe it was isolated to specific areas but the city had all time high murder rates nevertheless.

Edit: A little late, I just saw what you posted in response.

Is Baton Rouge now officially more dangerous or just as dangerous as Chicago?

Don't worry, the down votes don't hurt my feelings. I'm not misremembering things.

The time frame I'm referring to was the crazy Mall City era. Children from that area were wearing t-shirts depicting police officers being murdered. Gardere was picking up rapidly as well. It was scary as hell to go to Bon Marche Mall.
