Experts say the recent uptick in mass shootings is likely due to the amount of attention the attacks receive and the fixation on the people behind them

I do believe that is part of it.

I do not ever believe things like video games or anything are responsible.. because they aren't.

but I do believe the shooting incidents are where these people are getting the ideas. of course there's lots more that go into it.. such as how these people are raised or lack thereof..

what is frustrating lately is how these pussies lately survive the killing of so many innocent lives. but perhaps that will help with the investigation.

Other than the fact that violent crime has steadily dropped at the same time that the number of guns has increased your ideology is a winner

You keep going back to the blacks. Black on black crime is carried out with guns. White boy school shootings are carried out with guns. What's your point?

one is seen as an epidemic we must stop immediately by altering our constitution and gets lead off or front page headlines. this one claims statistically less lives.

the other is generally ignored and instances are hidden a few pages back or not mentioned in the news. this one claims statistically more lives.

you can't see the difference here?

That's a laughable made up statistic.

i counted 22...

i'm not saying each one resulted in mass tragedy.... but nonetheless, there was shooting at a school/on school grounds....

If that's what makes you sleep better than fine. All you Republicants can stick to your mass shooting solutions of "thoughts and prayers" and I'm sure the killing will stop.

School shootings have increased in prevalence only in the last 15 to 20 years.

Exactly. What has changed since then?

Columbine.

The more I think about it, the more I think this can all be traced to Columbine. As tragic as that was when it happened, the fallout is exponentially worse. I don't know if we'll ever get that cat back in the bag.

Yea and some of that number include drug deals gone bad in a parking lot at midnight, one person committed suicide in a school parking lot, a bullet from a nearby gun shot struck a building (at night). it isnt like they are walking into schools and shooting students. The ones where this does happen, end up on the news.

They're all carried out by guns. Seems like a constant to me.

Why does facebook shut his facebook down?

I imagine they can access it a certain way for the police to go through without having to scroll through a ton of other traffic?

that's a pretty loaded stat, wouldn't you agree? hell, you see a surge in gun sales every time a Democrat wins office, because 2A absolutists get all worried their guns are gonna get taken away (they won't... ever)

quote:

violent crime has steadily dropped

cool... well, let's do even more, if possible, and try to drop it to as close to zero as possible... sound good?

your ideology is a winner

i know... wanting schools to be safe, along with decreased amounts of gun violence, in general, in society is a good idea...

It is a factor, but if you look, there is a decrease/leveling out for a few years and then a big uptick in the early 2000s.

I can’t attribute it all to Columbine.

If Columbine never occurred, there would have been a different school shooting which would have given us the fallout we have today.

Evil and opportunity will always exist. All we can do is our best to limit the damage.

Exactly.

I never claimed they were all deadly.

Still is a cause for concern.
