What? The one on Jackson is an institution.
I judge a donut shop by the glazed donut, and those are always cold and stale. I like a kolache with more fillings than breading and theirs are like a loaf of bread. Their cake donuts are good.

Starlight is pretty decent, so I go there for our donut fix.

Shipleys 30 years ago was amazing.

Jackson St location was goat growing up and a hangout on Friday and Saturday night. Do the Peebles still own the Ellick franchise?

Strange that a private equity firm would want to own such a management intensive business that is so geographically segmented. They obviously aren’t familiar with the labor force in the south.

I got lucky with a fresh batch of apple fritters just put in the glass display. Life changing experience.

Shipley’s and Mary Lee’s donuts are American treasures. Often overlooked culinary delights of Louisiana

Honestly, I thought Shipley's was a Birmingham thing. Got one right down the street from me that's been there for 40 years. They make my Dad's favorite apple fritters.
