Shingles

I’m at the tail end of Shingles. The pain wasn’t that bad woke me up a couple nights in a row, but perhaps that’s because 1). I’m in my 30’s. 2). I started Anti-viral fairly early in course. Vesicles on my neck and chest.

My wife had it in her 30s as well. Once you know what it feels like, start antivirals as soon as you feel it next time.
Some studies claim its becoming more prevalent in young ppl due to chickenpox vaccines and less frequent exposure to the virus as an adult. Don’t know if that’s accurate but was in an article I read recently.

A friend of mine had a very bad experience. Long story short, He ended up sleeping with a lady from the company. His wife found out and blasted the company on here. It was a whole thing.

Wasn't bad at all. Slight itching and burning sensation on my head. Barely noticed it for the most part.
Had it a few years ago. Was somewhere around 29-30.

Got them when I was about 27 or 28. Didn't hurt as much as they were just really uncomfortable. Mine were on my waistband area. My lymph nodes hurt more than the actual area.

Had shingles a few years ago on my side. Really mild symptoms. A little itchy and sensitive, but I caught it really early and got on dat herp medicine.

I had them in my 20's, woke up with my side hurting and what looked like poison ivy along my rib cage.

I haven't had them but my Mom did back around Thanksgiving. Took a few weeks to get over them. She had the absolute worst headaches because they were primarily associated with the nerve running down her neck into her arm.
Unfortunately she just had to kind of ride it out with the anti-viral, topical cream for the blisters, and pain medication.

You're lucky! I had them a few months ago, on my eye lid. My whole eye was swollen shut, and that side of my face was swollen all the way to my ear. I couldn't open my eye for about 4 days, until the medicine started working. Sucked

I had them when I was 16 or so. I remember them itchy but otherwise the symptoms were mild.

I had it on my back like 3 years ago. It was the combined length and width of 2 pencils. It was very weird. It itched and had a burning sensation. Went to the doctor a few days in and he gave me some cream that helped. He didnt give me antiviral. I was mid 20s so I guess I had it easier than some seem to.

I had a smal, itchy, bumpy, rash pop up in the middle of my abdomen about this time last year. Frankly, I didn't know what is was and initially didn't think too much of it. Only by chance, I happened to be with a friend a day or two after it popped up who had previously had shingles. When I described the rash he said it sounded like shingles and that I should immediately see a doctor to get started on the medicine. If it wasn't for that, I probably would have waited until it got worse to see a doc. Luckily I didn't and my case was VERY mild. Just an annoying rash in one spot but zero pain. It took a while though for the discoloration caused by the rash to go away.

My mother had shingles; the pain from it was the only thing I ever heard her complain about. (She was born in 1910, and had lived through the depression and WWII.) This was about 1970.
When the 1st vaccine was available, I was one of the first in line. When the 2nd vaccine was available last year, I helped the pharmacist open his office - twice. This vaccine requires 2 injections, 2 months apart.
