If a hospital says they are almost at capacity it means they’re close to capacity of the COVID designated beds. Not capacity for all beds in the hospital. I wish MSM and Big Government would do a better job of getting that point across.

Our hospital expanded COVID beds when the outbreak was at its peak the first time. When COVID numbers dropped we reduced the amount of COVID designated beds so we could take on more standard patients.

If need be, we can increase the amount COVID designated beds in the hospital again.

So, hypothetically, 150 might have been our COVID capacity at peak, now our capacity might be around 90.

What do you not understand?

"Hospitals at essentially same capacity they have ever been"

Does not get the mentally ill mask wearers worked up into a frenzy like.

"Hospitals at near capacity due to the deadliest virus the world has ever seen because Trump did this"

Not really. We have entire sections closed right now because we can get the Nursing staff to cover them.

You mean hospitals aren’t ever only at 10% capacity?

There are no capacity issues. Edwards is using it to justify continued "lockdowns" (for Salmon) and wait out the economic destruction he is imposing on private business in exchange for federal bail out money.

The ICU where my wife works went on diversion only once in 2020. As you pointed out, they have added COVID beds since that time. Hospitalizations would have to nearly double compared to previous peak for her hospital to be 'full'.

And the fact that "capacity" may not be a bed issue but rather a staffing issue and therefor a product of their own poor decisions regarding staffing.

That and the fact that hospitals are regularly at "full capacity" regardless of COVID.

You realize not all hospitals operate in exactly the same way right?

Our hospital is completely full right now. Half are Covid. I am as over this shite as anyone else but some of you are fricking stupid.

Either:

1. You work at the hospital in Bernice, La

2. You are full of shite. You dont have nearly 400 covid patients in your hospital

Wow! Half of the hospital are Covid patients but people on this site still want to call it a “cold” or dismiss it entirely.
