but the name has been tied to some very offensive imagery.

So has the word "Alabama". I demand it be changed in the name of social justice.

I don't see the problem with the brand. Maybe they could update the name for current times: "Auntie Larqueesha's syrup."

The vast majority of people don't give a shite. There isn't a single thing in this world that's not going to offend somebody. So should we remove all symbols just to be safe? These two people just want to remove "Aunt Jemima" and replace it with their name for their own personal gains. Why else would they be complaining about this after all these decades?

Good point. What do you suggest we change it to?

Which is why it won't gain legs. I honestly don't care because I don't buy or consume the products in the first place. I was just trying to make a rational point as to why some may see it as offensive.

All I see is a happy black woman on the label. She's an aunt - a respectable member of a family.

She's only a slave if you make her a slave in your head.

Why would you do that to Aunt Jemima?

Black people telling other black people that something is offensive so they can exploit it for their own personal gains....hmmm...I feel like I've seen this before...

no, not all. Some images are legitimately offensive. The current image of Aunt Jemima isn't particularly offensive, but the name has been tied to some very offensive imagery.

You and the makers of this shite are a perfect example of how people can find a way to be offended by literally anything.

The fact that you all care so much about how certain people feel, or when they voice their opinions about anything that isn't inline with your own is very telling.
