Yet, the majority of black women purchase the product.

Maybe you should take your own advice and stop trying to force black women to be outraged over something so insignificant when there are far bigger issues they face then the image on a syrup bottle.

Again, I'm only explaining why some may feel this way. If I were trying to influence how black women felt I would be starting a social media campaign on this issue or participating in an ongoing one, but I'm not.

Insignificance is relative.

Clearly. Here we are talking about how black women should feel oppressed by the image of Aunt Jemima instead of why black women should feel oppressed that certain leaders of the "black community" benefit from such a slight of hand.

Which slight of hand tactic is oppressing them exactly?

MAMMY'S CUPBOARD

As a kid this was a must place to ask the parents to stop at while on a road trip. Parents never made any racial remarks and as properly raised children we never looked at this restaurant in any racial light.

They should rename it "Non-racial, non-denominational, made for everyone including black people and snowflakes maple syrup"

Claiming that black women are oppressed because of the image on a syrup bottle versus the real issues that are facing black women today?

It's literally a case of "Hey, look over here so you can get enraged and we can keep you dumb and poor and filling our pockets"

They should just change the logo to a White Lady. Don't destroy the brand name and shut up the stupid SJWs.

What real issues are they facing today that has them so oppressed?

Focusing on symbolism rather than substance is a huge misuse of time. Why not focus on crime, education and employment?

They'd have to look in the mirror. Can't have that. Gotta blame somebody else.

We can start with the achievement gap in black students compared to their other racial peers. Given that multiple studies have shown that the single largest factor in academic success is academic reinforcement in the home, I would think that should be their #1 issue. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

How many black "reverends" representing the "community" have pocketed cash to keep them from boycotting businesses and schools over perceived racial oppression that they regularly reinforce at their public pulpit?

Here in Louisville, it was revealed at the time of Rev. Louis Coleman's death that he strong armed the local school district into a $200,000 annual salary as a "diversity advisor" in order to keep him from boycotting JCPS schools.

Who?

an actress, restaurateur, chef and among the most elegant black women of her generation.

B. Smith is not mentioned for any acting roles on IMDB. She did act for 1 month in an off Broadway play. She also had two cameos on episodes of Mr. Rogers.

I think every restaurant that she ever opened is closed. Her Wiki mentions nothing about being, working as, or training to be a chef.

She has made money by marrying two different successful businessmen. She also designs some furniture and knick knacks.

That is an individual issue. I agree with you that it is a problem, but no politician or "leader" can fix that. That has to be addressed by the parent or parents themselves. Frankly, if they'd concern themselves with achieving personal goals and not having children out of wedlock or continuing an obvious poverty cycle their individual situation would improve drastically.

I honestly don't know because I don't participate in that racket. I'm not a religious hypocritical sheep.

Yet the continually follow these "leaders". Like I said, that is them being stupid on an individual level. They should empower themselves.

this is the only viable solution.
