I don't think any good could've come from going over to say hi or even acknowledging. The current GF is going to compare herself to the ex and show her insecurity, and you'd have to deal with that.

If the ex came over to speak with you, no issue there. You can't control people coming to say hi.

Don't marry someone who would get mad about being in a public place with an old fling.

Introduce your gf to your ex and say “isn’t it crazy how I’ve been inside of both of you?”

your present GF wouldn't have anything to bitch about.

Tell me you haven't been involved with women very long without telling me. They (GFs or wives) can always find something, whether or not it is justified does not matter. The OP avoided the minefield of the unknown.
You can always reach out to the other girl later and say, hey, you looked happy and healthy, glad you are doing well, just I was with someone and so were you and wanted to avoid any awkwardness for either of them

My gf is as chill as can be, isn't some crazy, jealous, insecure type at all, but...women are women.

tell me you are a pussy without telling me you are a pussy.

its not a minefield. I wont go out of my way to say hi, but im not ignoring them either. I will say hi, ask how they have been.

if my wife has a problem with that, oh frickign well, thats her insecurities not mine. I would expect the same of her if she saw an ex out.

You immediately text her a “wink emoji” and then the “question mark emoji” as soon as you see her. That is protocol.

I mean you aren't wrong, but sometimes its best to just avoid any potential bullshite. Obviously if she approached me and said hello, I would've been pleasant, and it wouldn't have been a big deal.
