I mean, that’s typically standard in engineering to account for things like this.

did you watch the video?? looks like the entire mountainside collapsed. not sure engineering would have helped..maybe a geologist could have told them the entire mountainside was near collapse which may have worked.

Would a Geotech report not have shown this as a possibility?

How do you totally frick up a hydro-power turbine?

Add clay and lots of silt etc. to the water passing through it.

Why post this?

Because people representing the adjacent hydoelectri power plant have a press release about it happening really close to them.

I'll always marvel at the people who are like "woah! look how fast China can build big things." You wouldn't want to see their quality control, if there is any.
