That’s often the case in war.

This is so bizarre. “Explosive diarrhea” is not new. Neither are the “parasites.” But all of the sudden it’s headline worthy? All at once and various produce? Nobody finds a this a little off?

When your job is crisis reporting (or crisis management), everything is a crisis.

Seriously.

Nation of over 380 million and you've got about 3k with the screaming shits?

Sorry. I didn't care about Covid with its 99% survival rate. I am not going to get my panties in a twist about some food poisoning because Juan and Pancho didn't wash their hands before harvesting lettuce.

Up until WW2, this was the case. The basic sanitation and sterilization that is standard practice now wasn’t the case back then. Using the same medical instruments from patient to patient without cleaning and sterilizing was a huge contributor plus not cleaning and sterilizing the wound area made post operation infections run rampant. It wasn’t until the Crimean War that this stuff started getting proper attention.

Update 7/10/2026

Update 7/13/2026 (can't get current map to upload)

quote:

quote:

Cases of cyclosporiasis, a parasitic infection known to cause severe diarrhea, have been reported in all but eight states, according to USA TODAY's reporting.

quote:

NBC News/Today's tally of state reports found more than 4,000 reported cases nationwide as of July 13, 2026, although those figures are not directly comparable to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's confirmed national surveillance count. Michigan has officially reported 2,640 cases to date.

I had my gallbladder taken out in 2015, still continue to eat like I use to(like a fatass cajun). I haven't had a solid shite in 11 years - I don't think I'd even notice if I got infected with this parasite
