My wife and I are both teachers. She teaches elementary and I teach high school. Of course there are more male teachers at the high school and we all work great together and the staff has a family mindset.
At my wife's school there are only two male teachers and its crazy! the women are always back stabbing each other and throwing each other under the bus. They fight all the time about stupid shite and have more drama than my high school students lol

As a woman, I concur. Thank God I don’t work in an office environment because I think the cattiness would make an already stressful job simply miserable. My worst manager ever was a female. HORRIBLE. She played favorites among the women, treating her people like potential members of her high school clique. Work with some women now, and most are older, professional women who don’t have time for it. The men I work with are awesome. When we get together and gripe, it’s about the job itself and not trashing people for the fun of it.

I tell my wife all the time to listen to what she is saying. It's like middle school all over again at her offices. She's no worse than any others, but they definitely have cliques and the others are always doing something worth gossiping about like a fricking 13 year old.

and its always over STUPID shite. i wouldn't mind as much if they were calling out another woman/man for fricking up on the job..but they get PERSONAL AS HELL.
its all about calling out their perfume or hair style or what they wore or crap like that. its never related to job performance unless they feel they were treated bad.

Hers is usually job related, but it's definitely nitpicky. Like they wouldn't call their friends out for it, but when the girl who is in the other clique does it, it's an offense worth firing over.

i should clarify what i was saying. i think it generally originates with some job issue..but rather than refuting the issue itself, they jump right to personal insults that have nothing to do with why they are pissed at that person.

This is absolute truth.
We had this great woman join our team. She didn't have that much experience in our division, but she was incredibly smart, well-spoken, and cool as hell. She was also insanely attractive.
What was interesting was that the more confident women "accepted" her and helped her. They were able to see the value this new, hot chick brought to the table. The dumb, fat cows were the ones giving her a ton of crap, talking mad shite about this new girl, and pretty much always in their supervisor's office spewing hate.
It was akin to watching a train wreck.
Luckily, the new girl was smart and knew she brought value to the table and stair-stepped those bitchy, jealous sows.
