It’s the person that did it, not the guns or medication. That being said, if you can’t see the common denominators of mental illness, prescribed medication, and access to guns then we really can’t move forward on a debate about how to solve the problem

I'd 100% agree with the shooters attorney if he was cleaning up the blood of his victims after killing them.

Look on the bright side, at least Cruz got to exercise his 2nd amendment rights before he goes to prison, liberals will never know what that feels like because they hate this country and it's freedoms

Weird. I struggled with issues, was on medication for a while, and had access to guns, yet I didn't shoot anyone much less shoot up a school.

All of the shooters have some mental illness. Maybe we need restrictions for mentally ill peoole

I have seen friends go batshit crazy from being on adderall. Serious manic episodes.
If someone is misdiagnosed, prob like hundreds of children, then yes medication can seriously frick you up. Some kid with bipolar tendencies shouldnt be on speed.

Wonder how long this problem of school shootings would last if our justice system allowed for lawful execution to happen within 24hrs of the arrest? Person of interest has been thoroughly identified as responsible for the crimes committed, firing squad on site. None of this bs they get to sit in prison eating up tax dollars, etc. waiting on hearings, sentencings, and trials. Frick that, you do the crime of killing innocent people and it’s beyond reasonable doubt they were defenseless, death by firing squad out back on the spot.

It's not hard to imagine that someone with mental illness would be prescribed some form of medication. Mental illness is not as black and white as other illnesses and no patient with similar diagnoses responds the same to the different drugs used to treat it. Just because they are being treated doesn't guarantee the drugs will work as they are intended.
And again, this guy may have been self medicating. Mentally ill patients are also not always the best at taking the prescribed drugs regularly that are prescribed to them. I'm not making excuses for this guy but mental illness is just not well understood by the average person because it's a very complicated issue with no clear cut solutions in most cases.

Congrats to you, I guess. Just because you had similar issues, doesn’t mean you respond the same to treatment or have similar life experiences. That’s why I stated it’s the person, not the medication or guns. You chose to ignore that part though.

Another problem with mentally ill people is once they are prescribed medication, they start to “feel better” and quit taking their medication. This leads them to spiral out of control again. That’s why I said it’s the person and not the medication or guns. I am just pointing out that there is a common denominator and it should be explored
