All the buses I remember being on in EBR was basically a flatbed trailer with sheet metal around it. Shocks probably weren't changed since the mid 80s. Don't remember any climate control either.

Was cold as a bitch. Thankfully my elderly grandmother who lost power as an Entergy customer that time was able to come stay with us as Demco customers who didn't lose power.. Today her power stayed on and I lost mine. Go figure.

So many tough guys in the OT. Most people in Louisiana, let alone poor kids, do not have proper winter gear. Kids up north actually own winter coats. It is no different from old people dying in Chicago during the summer because the temp rose above 90.

They don’t want kids waiting for busses in single digit weather?

There won’t be single digit temps anywhere in South Louisiana.

Scruffy loves the extremes of the OT.

“Everyone is weak nowadays, especially the younger generations.”

Immediately followed by:

“Kids can’t go to school because it is cold and they don’t have jackets for their 15 min wait for the bus and they might slip on the sidewalk.”

Ingredients for Closing Schools
1. More cars on the road these days
2. People are way more selfish these days
3. People are way more distracted on the roads these days
4. People are way more litigious these days
5. People are way more soft these days
6. Louisiana is still retarded and can't figure out cold weather

I wondered if this might happen when I checked the forecast this morning. Just barely above freezing for a few hours, them back to freezing Temps in the evening. Just enough to melt what was frozen and then freeze it on the ground.

Makes no difference. They aren't learning anything at school either.

Do you want 4, 5 and 6 year old children standing in potentially 15 degree weather to catch a bus?

Kids didn't die 20 years ago when there weren't closures for cold. I get closing today because roads were icy this morning

Can all school admin get to their schools to see if they have busted pipes or any other issues from last night?

If it is above freezing, yes (most of SE LA will be above freezing today)

I went outside and almost busted my arse on some ice. Do I think schools could be open? Sure, but who the frick cares about 1 or 2 days when kids have the entire summer off?

So what you miss a day of work. Get a laptop or some shite.

I met a guy on a motorbike on my way to work this morning. We both balanced on one leg and shook hands quickly to make this possible.

Want to know the best part?

Scruffy doesn’t even have kids in this school system…or the state of LA, for that matter.

Just enjoying the day off after Scruffy’s run of night shifts.

Still think y’all are raising weak children.

No hurricanes then?

Because I got out for hurricanes.

As for the cold, it was incredibly rare…and last second.
