North Baton Rouge is a fricking cancer

There is not a more parasitic, troublemaking subregion of a city in America.

I’m not even from Louisiana or br and it makes me angry that a dysfctional ghetto can hold an entire city with so much potential by the balls

Deferred doesn’t mean moved to another time? I mean I’m happy if that means dead, or if that means the people who voted to defer most likely will also vote to kill it if needed

You sure? So the vote is still on, with only St G getting to do so?

Well. Vote on StG and then hold off the lawsuit if it passes.
Then we'll get to see how it all plays out.

My feelings are this is just step 1.
If StG really does want an ISD, that will be another opportunity for BR City to show how jealous and spiteful they really are.

According to the LA Leg web page, "deferred" is defined as:
Deferred
quote:

Deferred A legislative instrument scheduled for hearing by a committee may be voluntarily deferred upon the request of the author or member handling the instrument. An instrument voluntarily deferred without objection may be rescheduled for committee hearing. A legislative instrument is involuntarily deferred when so ordered by a vote of a majority of the committee members present and voting, notwithstanding the request of the author or member handling it to report the instrument. An involuntarily deferred instrument may be rescheduled for a committee hearing (after opportunity for hearing all other House instruments requested to be heard) only by the vote of two-thirds of the committee members present and voting. During a session, the indefinite postponement of a bill usually means that the bill is dead for that legislative session. (House Rules 6.9 and 6.10)

Peterson is trying to argue semantics against an argument clearing up inappropriate and false arguments

Peterson wants to talk about the tax revenue that BR loses, but not the liabilities that it's no longer responsible for. That's convenient.

From my understanding it would allow (or stop) EBR to continue collecting a sales tax in the STG area

I think it means that they didn't want to vote yea or ney. They now let the lawsuit that was mentioned decide the outcome of the constitutionality of the incorporation without the entire parish voting on it. This stops them from looking like they are changing the rules at the last minute.

So St. George takes ~40million from the parish but the parish doesn’t have to pay for services but she doesn’t want to hear that.

What point is she trying to make exactly? St. George isn't an absolute slum like NBR, so just sit down and be happy?

ODE TO ST. GEORGE

Oh, hail St. George!
Our day of liberation is near!
Free our people
From Weston-Broome's reign!

From the levee of the river!
To the plains of Shenandoah!
We cry to be free!
Oh, hail St. George!
All hail St. George!
