I first started driving in the early 70’s. You could have a beer in your hand and wave to a cop and they would just wave back. When we would get pulled over late at night and visibly drunk the cop would either tell you to go straight home or follow you to make sure you made it there.
You know what they said about driving in the 70's...."If it wasn't for DWI, I couldn't go anywhere"

Worked for the liquor lobby when I was in college at LSU about 20 years ago. Bill Goldring and his wife were just amazing people to us anytime they were in our office. Truly nice, kind human beings. Painfully so.

We did some research and at that time, I believe that Mr. Bill sold 2 out of every 3 bottles of Crown Royal purchased. On Earth.

Choeust is a baller. No lie. But Mr. Bill was on another level from that. Believe that.

The older i get the smaller this world gets i swear. I was on a flight with a lady who said she worked for Diageo liquor brands but i didnt realize she was working on this. She was pretty for her age, i remember her telling me she had a summer place in tahoe but lived in san Francisco. If you're out there, find me!

There is much ignorance in this thread. Chouest likely isnt top 5 in this state. He is definitely not 1-3.

I have met Goldring several times. He is quiet and personal guy...he is quietly the richest man in LA. His new Old Metairie home is very nice. I know the prior owner well. Goldring paid top dollar for it.

At a minimum, he is 4-5 times as wealthy as the next up.

Yep.

The last name Goldring should give it away as a Tulane guy.

The wealthiest family in Louisiana by far is the Goldring family
the bayou bubba, Gary chouest, may disagree with this statement
as someone who knows both said to me this when discussing this post..... The goldrings could start a war and chouest and the rest of us would have to fight it....
