Diageo owns liquor like gallo owns wine.

And the other half is owned by Sazerac.

They are going to make variations of the absinthe Sazerac drink and overprice the shite out of it

These frickers own half the bar. Take a look through, their portfolio, you may be surprised to see some of your favorites.
One of my favorite long term stock holdings. Pays dividends like an atm machine if you hold it long enough.

Secondary marking is going to be booming with the 2019 Seagrams Antique Collection.

But they aren’t buying those brands.
The brands they are buying are well brands.
However, $550mm doesn’t seem like a whole lot of money even for those 19 well liquors

Lykes
Was told several times in 70s 80s they were 1 or 2

I first started driving in the early 70’s. You could have a beer in your hand and wave to a cop and they would just wave back. When we would get pulled over late at night and visibly drunk the cop would either tell you to go straight home or follow you to make sure you made it there.

The Lykes family was on fire until mismanagement & greed set in among the family members. They were the third largest but solely dependent on government work.

Chouest doesnt hold a candle to The Goldring empire.....they may be in 2nd place but it's a far 2nd.......not to mention the debt and low cash flow Chouest has, hurts his ranking

I wouldnt go that far, even with the downturn in the energy sector it is still probably pretty close. There is only estimates but all the ones I have seen put the low end in the 4-5B range and the high end in the 14-16B. He owns several shipyards across the globe and several ports including Fourchon.
Posted on 11/13/18 at 8:40 pm to GREENHEAD22
Im very aware of what shipyards and ports they own....as well as how many vessels they own and how many vessels they have working and not working/stacked.....as well as the vessels that are for sale....more money going out than coming in......thankfully they will survive because of the very large Government contracts they have....
Yes, they have a lot of assets, including the Wildlife refuges in texas and africa....

Bill Goldring is in the 9 to 11 billion dollar range.
Chouest is in the low 1 billion dollar range.
Still a lot of money but no where in the same ball park.
Frank Stewart I would estimate is behind Goldring with around 2 billion that's how far ahead Goldring is.
I'm talking personal wealth not wealth that is leverage with corporate debt either.
