Saturated with 'update your information' postcards from LSU Alumni Office

As 'out of state' alum family, we have been receiving a postcard from the LSU Alumni Office each week for the past 6 weeks or so. It always ends up in the trash, we have no intention of updating their marketing files.
Anybody know why they are choosing to waste their money this way?!?! New director? New directive? Hoping against hope that we'd waste our money on them?!?!

Those NIL Chargers aren't going to pay for themselves.

They showed their a$$ with the last admin. F them.

They want to sell you an Alumni Directory. I tossed my card.

Is this specifically the LSU Alumni Association or the LSU Foundation?

Yes. I get the same postcards. It shows my class as well (1998).

The one I received is from the LSU Alumni Association.

Apparently, they have my current info because I keep getting the cards, emails and calls!

Yeah, had the call with them...they asked some basic alumni questions, then tried to get me to buy a whole package of things that included the alumni book.
I was confused - thought it was just to update my info.
They were a "bit" aggressive in the tactic of trying to get me to buy a package of something...they offered quite a few other packages of things to buy.

Somewhere in an office off West Lakeshore, an email has just gone out requesting those post card intervals be changed to every 3 weeks.

Pretty standard for most schools. I have the UT alumni affairs call center number blocked on my phone. They still send shite to my parents' house in the Memphis area. It gets tossed immediately.

The last and only time I actually tried to utilize my status as an alumni I was completely ignored. Couldn't get a real person on the phone and every email was ignored. I'm good

I called the phone number to update my information figuring it was still $15-$20 like it was in the early 2010's, it's gone WAY up and everything is managed by some company in Dallas.

Years ago I bought 'the book' package for $300-something and was supposed to get a Polo shirt with it.
Even after emailing one of the executives with LSU Alumni and being told I would get the shirt, it never showed up.
I eventually gave up and considered the cost of the shirt my last donation I would ever make.
I continue to contribute to LSU in other ways.

Same here and it's a lot of mailings on good quality stock.

I get them from Mississippi State.
Let me guess... yellowish? Barcode under the return address?
Some company is partnering with these universities to sell something and the schools apparently get a cut.

They sent one to my office

Ironically (or maybe not) I just got one in the mail today. I filed it in the same place I put all the red light tickets and credit card applications.
