So after I check out. I could swap out that big box of saltine crackers for a 70" TV and be good to go

I'm going to assume that while they typically check just the number of items, they also check for large purchases.

They seem to usually spend a bit more time when someone has an expensive item.

But then again, you can always try for the older lady checking receipts at the Metairie Sam's.

So you don't go to ANY other businesses that accept SNAP? Hopefully you or someone in your family will never need assistance one day.

This is the OT but shite happens to some people.

It's the same old shite..... the bad apples ruin it for the rest. I've been at the Sam's by Cortana on several occasions where someone in front of me had a flat cart stacked with nothing but candy, chips, etc. Not a single meat, bread,or any other item that would create a meal. I really believe that these hole in the wall convenience stores in the hood pays people to go in to Sam's and buy crap with their EBT card. Either that or they had a vending machine to fill.

r like the old Sam's. I seem to remember the door checks were not very thorough, they seemed to just go through the motions.

They know what they're looking for. Bigger $$ items. I worked there in 95. Not sure now. It may be items they know to be over $100 each or something. But they DO have a quick algorithm/process for this.

Now at Walmart????

Sams at Siegen have this? Going tonight for 3 things. I'll probably buy 17 and would try this.

Sam's Club accepts SNAP (formerly EBT) cards.

That alone is reason why I won't shop there anymore. Too much like the Walmart's of the world (yes, I know who the owner is).

Costco all the way.

You realize Costco accepts them, too, right?

Yep. It's legit and it's awesome. You have to show your digital "receipt" at the door for them to scan, but then can roll out. No waiting in line at all.

It actually made me laugh.. an elder lady I know broke her hip and is on them. And she can shop at Costco with her snaps.

Sams has a Scan & Go app. Rolled out last Christmas season.

Works well. I scan my stufff with my iphone as I shop, skip the registers, and head to the door. The lady at the door looks at my phone and scans it with her phone/machine, and I'm gone in seconds.

I don't think you can buy alcohol with it, so that sucks.

I figure that when more folks start using it, the lines will shift from the registers to the exit door.

They just pick out 2 or 3 items from your cart and look to see if they are on the receipt.

Sam's scan & go is pretty sweet.

I prefer Sam's over Costco. They carry more stuff I buy and the meat is better quality than Costco

I've never used a check out line at Sam's. I thought those people were waiting to have film developed.

I've been using it for months. Just scan the items on your app as you cart them. Show phone receipt on way out door like normal. Leave. So easy.

At 730 in the morning there was a line of 6 people glaring at me ad I strolled right by and the lady at the door scanned the Barcode on my phone. In and out in 10 minutes

I go to both. Like that Sams is open at 7am, wish costco did that.

Costco seems to have 2 people at the register, so that speeds things up.

They both offer good value on a lot of items.

The Sam's scan and go app is awesome. I just don't have a reason to go to Sam's that often.

So stupid. The technology is there to just walk through a set of rfid scanners, then scan and pay instantly. This is just making consumers do the work of employees.
