The official restaurant of Alabama! They were going to go out and save this restaurant at any and all costs. Barges hit bridges to save this place.

It's at least 2 and 2 of the ones relied on by the NHC.
If they are using resources to run HWRF on it, it has potential.

To be fair, some of these places were barely in a Tropical Storm Warning ~30 hours ago, and conditions have been shite for longer than that.
Eh, not true. Orange Beach, Alabama was in a Hurricane Warning on Monday at 10:00 AM and a Hurricane Watch at 5:00 PM on SATURDAY.
The watch was issued 72 hours in advance.

To stick to the facts here, the panhandle has been under a TS warning from the border to Apalachicola since 5am Sunday. It’s been a hurricane warning for Pensacola since 4pm Monday. Anyone that lives on the coast knows the bad side of storms, and TS force winds are plenty enough to bring down a crane. There is no excuse for those contractors.

It's another steering issue question mark for that system. The riding the coast scenario would be because of the cool front coming down now.

Does anyone have any pics or info on the homes along hwy 399 in Pensacola?

I would have thought it there would be a pretty good industry standard on tying down marine vessels like this before storms.
There is now...USACOE and USCG have protocols in place for all fleets around the SELA protection levees...they were required to drive pilings and have a hurricane plan submitted and approved and if they are told on short notice to get their shite out of the fleet they better get their shite out

Agreed. We never take chances even if there is a remote chance of a storm headed our way. At the VERY least, the cranes could have been boomed down easily. Leaving them boomed up & holding leads just shows lack of experience or bad management decisions.

Those yellow bollards out front were strategically placed to stop any and all barges

I’m sure the protection that marine vessels are provided in terms of what they are responsible for: actual damages and not lost revenue or total impact doesn’t help.
Sunshine Bridge damage causing detours for over a year, lost business for locations close to bridge were never compensated.

It has always amazed me that Waffle House just puts those bollards out in front of the handicapped parking spaces and not in front of the other spaces.
