No, fortunately. But it's bad enough. Two main bridges knocked out would be a nightmare around there.

What the Escambia Sheriff said earlier:

All of the marine contractors I work with have storm plans as far as a week out from landfall

It would appear these either do not or did not adhere to them

This is going to lead to another "Cone" debate, I can just feel it.

It appears the runaway barge has run aground, missing the I-10 Bridge, per WEAR-TV. Crisis averted.

The OT's Weather Warriors will be arguing over the "Great Cone Debate" for years to come. You can bookmark this post for future use.

Bigger Cone versus Smaller Cone will definitely keep our Weather Warriors up at night posting which is better.

Video at the link. That's a big ol' gator....

Here is another reminder to not venture out into the aftermath of #Sally. A large gator was hanging out just outside this home in Gulf Shores today. Displaced wildlife is common after storms like these. We have also received reports of snake bites.

Yep.

Some say it might have been a loose barge hitting the side of the industrial canal levee during Katrina that caused that break. If I re-call correctly there were other loose barges around the area at the time as well.

I would have thought it there would be a pretty good industry standard on tying down marine vessels like this before storms.

The Ford Fusion almost made it. Blame this one on Ford for not making the manual height suspension an option on this model.
