I looked at the maps from Ivan and his house was good. Any reason to think this will be be worse?
Not a chance. Ivan was an absolute beast. That’s not to say this storm isn’t going to cause severe damage.

Lost power in Fairhope about 30 minutes ago. Wind is definitely picking up.

Worst part? The cell service is so fricking laughably bad here that I can barely pull up TD, much less watch a video or something. Got my weather radio out, just drinking some cold brews, listening to the radio, and watching the storm roll in.

Storm fatigue setting in here...

This reminds me of Danny (Sally is stronger though) years ago that sat in Mobile Bay for a seemingly days...

Still have power up by University of South Alabama.. under ground utilities...
Seeing plenty of transformer flashes on the sky.

Good luck and stay safe to those on the Eastern Shore and in the FL panhandle...

One more cap n coke...

Using this to track the progress or lack thereof of this storm.

Exact same situation neighbor. And Verizon for me. Having to sleep in a guest bedroom because it was legit the only place in the house I could find service and the wife is stuck working at the hospital.

Thank you for responding. According to the flood level GCIS maps for Ivan it would have to be a Cat 4 or greater to flood his home. But again, the water doesn’t come from the Gulf but from the bayside of Destin.

This property is in major deep trouble with all the rain fall...and now paired with triple digits winds, it is going to be ugly along Mrs. Dixie Graves Highway.

son has beach house in Morgantown, 6 miles from the fort. we have property with a few sheds and a travel trailer across gulf beach highway from big lagoon state park. what's the chance of something of ours taking a hit...100%?
