I believe in freedom and the federal government staying out of citizens' business, except when I don't like some citizens' business, in which case I don't believe those things at all. And the countries who actively remove freedoms from their people obviously have the right idea.

The thing I think is funny that people are blissfully unware of is the genesis of the OP was directed at the US and not for fixing some issue in Russia but sowing division here. They have done a great job because you have and odd portion of the party of Reagan lining up to bow down to Putin at least culturally. I get the feeling more and more people are actually leaning toward accepting a kleptocratic dictator as long as he does things they like.
The other thing I think is amusing is most of the people talking about Russia with a gleam in their eye also hate city living but forget if you don't live in Moscow, St. Pete are a small number of other larger cities they might as well live in a place like Beattyville KY but even that might be an upgrade. They also freak out about the cities in the US with high Muslim populations but Moscow is over 25% Muslim. The rose tinted glasses come with some serious closed blinders on them.
