The cruise line had cancelled all sailings through April 10, and will now cancel all cruises through May 11, 2020.
Royal Caribbean expects to return to service on May 12, 2020.

I have never ever understood the appeal of going on cruises.

I was forced to go on a cruise recently. I did not like it, but it was on an elite/mega ship (for the non-luxury lines) and there were zero trashy people on it.
It satisfied all of my cruise curiosity with minimal pain inflicted

Neither did I.
But, wife made me go on a 7 day Royal Caribbean. It was amazing!
We are booked for a 7 day Royal Caribbean out of N.O. on May 16!
Hoping we get to go!

Even before corona virus they were trashy breeding grounds for disease.

it's because they'll make more money off the bailout and not have to deal with the white trash

Given that most of them fly under flags of different countries to avoid paying income and payroll taxes, they better not get shite.

A ton of foreign labor as well right?

At this rate; we may be able to buy a ship or two for pennies on the dollar.

Is this some sort of badge of honor for you?

Hopefully this ruins those trashy floating cesspools for good. No bailouts. Just iceberg death into artificial reefs.

Anyone who was booked on a sailing is getting either a full refund or 125% of their cruise fair as a future cruise credit (which applies for purchases made in the cruise planner). Universal also closed through May but surprisingly, no word yet from Disney.
I kind of expected them to beat Universal to the punch on that.

If the cruise ship companies are smart, they would offer their ship as floating hospitals, and would likely get a lot of stimulus money

As long as it doesn't reach mid June I'm good

We are booked for a September cruise on Royal. The price has understandably dropped, I should call and get an adjustment to what I paid.

Yes, you should. Prices should stay low for a while, so take advantage of it.
