Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc., styled as Winn?Dixie, is an American supermarket chain headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida.[2] Winn-Dixie operates more than 546 stores in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi. The company has had its present name since 1955 and can trace its roots back to 1925.

Winn-Dixie is known for its private label Chek brand soft drinks, which are produced in over 20 different flavors plus diet and caffeine-free varieties—one of the widest assortments. Winn-Dixie has been known as "The Beef People" throughout its lifetime. In its advertising and print media, Winn-Dixie used slogans such as “We’re Right For You” starting in 1982, “America’s Supermarket” from 1985 until 2001, “The Real Deal” from 2001 to 2004, and since 2018, “It’s a Winn Win!” Winn-Dixie has also been known for its use of the brand promises of "Fresh Checked Every Day" for its Jacksonville, Florida locations, "Getting Better All The Time" in its locations in Central Florida, "El Sabor De Tu País", or "The Flavor Of Your Country", in its Miami area stores, and "Local Flavor Since 1956" in its Louisiana area stores.

Some are nice, some aren't. We have several around here. They have all seemed to get better though.

I went to one years ago in Va. I had the same impression. It was depressing.

Good. The WD on vets is a shithole. Hopefully, they will employ better workers.

Aldi is way better anyways.

To paraphrase a classic line from Good Morning Vietnam because it's true....Aldi sucks the sweat off a dead man's balls

WD isn't great... But ALDI is crap. Stuff lying in the aisle. Trying to figure out brand equivalents. Paying a quarter for a cart and bags.

Publix execs must be calling yacht brokers because of the bonuses they'll be getting

We have these really nice Winn Dixie’s they redid a couple years ago. The even have a wine bar/cheese thing with flat screens. You can grab and go while shopping or sit down.

I’ve only been to 1 Aldi in DC and completely agree with your assessment. In fact, I think most DGs were less trashy than the Aldi I visited. Limited selection of items, most of them off-brand and picked over. I’d be afraid to buy perishables from Aldi based off of that experience. I’m not the biggest fan of WD although it’s serviceable and I think their meat selection is better than most grocery stores.

Winn Dixie's prices are fricking nuts. Whole Foods prices for Walmart products. They have been doomed for a while

The one off 30a in Destin has one of these. It's nice inside; would hate to see it converted to an Aldi.

Super 1 is the best grocery store chain I experienced in Louisiana.

It’s the closest you can get to HEB. Speaking of HEB, they really should have stores in LC and Lafayette.

What? Some of you guys need to get out more. Walmart is the cheapest generally sure, but comparing Winn Dixie to Whole Foods prices is absurd.

Winn dixie stores really vary in regards to how nice their locations are. Publix are all pretty similar. The newer or updated Winn Dixie’s are plenty nice unless you want to pay expensive prices just to have a nice store.

Damn going from the beef people to the plastic in our beef people.

Fox Business: Public health alert issued for raw beef sold at ALDI, may contain plastic
