Am I the only person who doesn’t like Aldi?

No

My wife made it sound so great and we got there (Covington) it was very disappointing.

The Aldi I went to in McComb was kind of cheap and trashy. Like Dollar General trashy.

They used to be that way. All the new and remodeled ones in my area are nice and clean.

Their produce sections are still rather limited, but they have plenty of name-brand items, and a lot of the off-brand stuff is good. One of the off-brand items I like is a frozen pork schnitzel that is great when I want to whip up a quick meal.

What? Some of you guys need to get out more. Walmart is the cheapest generally sure, but comparing Winn Dixie to Whole Foods prices is absurd.

Winn dixie stores really vary in regards to how nice their locations are. Publix are all pretty similar. The newer or updated Winn Dixie’s are plenty nice unless you want to pay expensive prices just to have a nice store.

They just did a nice renovation to the W/D by me. Within a month, it was again filthy, disorganized, and the same lack of employees.

All seems to be about local management.

Not sure how this would work. Aldi stores are very small and Winn Dixie are way too large to convert to an aldi

Aldi is getting into full size grocery market according to story

You must live under a rock. Albertsons were bought by Kroger last year. Will transform in 2024

Paying a quarter to rent a cart to make sure trashy people don't leave them in the parking lot
I've only been to Aldi's in Germany (where it was a euro) but do you actually pay a quarter to rent a cart or do you just need to deposit one to unlock it that you get back when you return it?

It’s a deposit and you get it back.

I have heard the newer ones are better but I can’t shake the dollar general level that the Aldi in Kennesaw was. Cheap bad meat, shite produce, dingy lighting, no bags. It just felt nasty.

I stick with sprouts or Publix

Super 1 is the best grocery store chain I experienced in Louisiana.

Are you drunk? Super 1 here is worse than County Market ever dreamed of being. Hard to believe these are owned by Brookshires.

I feel the complete opposite. i went to one years ago an dit was fine.

I went to a new one last month and will never be going back.

Its a small square and everything is basically in the packaging it was shipped in. I also didnt see a single employee.

that place is absolute trash.

ALDIs will be converting to a full scale grocery store. No one really knows what to expect. As long as they have better meat than Rouses I will shop there. Rouses is terrible

Damn ! I started my first job at a Winn Dixie back in January of 1984. In my neighborhood, we had a K-Mart, Kroger, then an A&P , then a National. We had a K&B and a Baskin-Robbins and a Skaggs & Albertsons. We also had a Burger King that white people enjoyed going to.
39 years later, these stores are defunct or about to go defunct. Make America great again. Oh we also had a thriving Radio Shack-also defunct in 2023
