curious what you are referring to as "dated" while also calling it good.

Not sure if he's the founder of the same FOTF that's on 88.1 FM local but those two guys on that show (don't know their names) have some major hate on their hearts for Catholics. Not sure, I think they say they're Baptist maybe, but all I know it that much hate and bad mouthing doesn't come from Jesus or any scripture I've ever heard of.
Used to listen to their program frequently when I was trying to find my way back to Christ. Didn't take me lone to realize Christ was not there.
You will know them by their fruits.
It wasn't hate. He just pointe out the heresies of the Catholic Church.

Someone with his exact background would never even be allowed to sniff medical school in this area of the country. They'd probably get flagged by the government as a potential danger.
Wow, you play the victim card very well

You obviously know nothing about James Dobson.
I know a ton about Dobson, grew up in FOTF-land, and echo his sentiments. May Dobson rest in shite.

There’s quite a lot of downvotes
I never heard of him
Can someone provide insight regarding this guy?

Dr. James Dobson is last person to interview the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy before he sat on the electric chair a couple hours later.

Heavily opposed to LGBT rights, especially same-sex marriage. Blamed mass shootings on gay people existing.
Typical hypocritical conservative stunting any real societal progression. Heavy proponent of Project 2025.

It's funny that the posters who you know are real life pieces of shite hate James Dobson.

A lone voice for many years pushing back against the attacks on traditional family values.
"Traditional family values" was all you heard about on AM radio in the 90s.

Meaning the books are anachronistic in terms of challenges from technology, prevalence of homosexuality/pornography, etc. while the themes are still pertinent/good.

He and his organization were a tremendous blessing to me in the eighties and nineties while we were raising our young family. The things I learned from him that were the most helpful were to give my husband 30-60 minutes to wind down when he got home from work before talking to him about stuff, and saving my long winded conversations for close girlfriends while getting to the point quickly when I did talk to him. There were occasions when longer conversations were needed, but those were the exceptions and not the rule. That advice has worked for 39 years of marriage.

No it was hate. First they had their facts wrong and then proceeded to really say some uncalled for things about Catholics who believe in their faith.
So much for Paul's teaching of be prepared to defend you faith, but do it gently.
No these guys are not pointing out heresies, they were attacking individuals, condemning them to hell for their beliefs.
Even the Archangel Michael stopped short of rebuking demons himself and trusted that God would rebuke them.
I've learned that if you listen close to what people say and how they say it they'll tell you who they really are. There's a lot of hate in protestant churches for Catholics. And as I said when I was searching for Christ I visited a lot of different churches. It was there in all of them, something under the surface, sometimes it was the message.
I don't think the general community of protestants hate Catholics but they are definitely being taught that by their pastors and leaders.

And I'm sure Catholics never say bad about Protestants?
Pope Pius V excommunicated Queen Elizabeth of England, declaring her a heretic.....there's plenty more

I can honestly say that I have never heard anything mentioned at all, in any context, regarding protestants. Not during a homily, not in a "Catholic" Bible study, and not from any fellow Catholics just in conversation. Literally not one time.
I have, on the other hand, had many many protestants come out of the woodwork over the years to "save" me from going to hell for being Catholic.

Not at the Holy Mass for sure.
From a Catholic perspective, protestants are our brothers and sisters in Christ. In every Catholic church I've been in we are taught that they are like us saved by their faith in Jesus Christ and we pray for them to rejoin the perfect worship of God through the Holy Mass.
I've heard preached several times in protestant churches that Catholics are worshiping Satan and going to hell. And many more time without naming Catholics specifically, heard the holy mass mocked and made a joke of.
I'm sure there are Catholics who speak ill of protestants but it's not taught nor condoned by the Church. These are just my experiences and it doesn't seem to be a one off thing. It's also a large reason I have returned to the Catholic church and feel peace here.
