I kind of think a major underlying issue is the increasing wealth gap that has taken place. People are pissed. Yeah, the major theme is racism and oppression. But I would bet a contributing factor is the fact that this generation rioting is not set up to succeed financially like their parents and grandparents. They can’t buy a house or a new car like they are told they should by now. Instead, they are living week to week hardly getting by while the older generations are sitting back easy. I think it’s strange. Yes, the older generation probably didn’t have a ton and had to work hard at their age to get those things, but it has become much harder now (statistically speaking). With the government shutting down, it has made the younger people even more financially vulnerable, which is frustrating as frick.

When I read this I thought of Kiev, Ukraine what, about 6 years ago or so? Didn't make thousands but 100's were hurt and killed over that entire ordeal between the ordinary people and the government.
