My wife and I are looking to remodel our kitchen. We are looking for reputable companies who can help with the redesign and the actual remodel. Tops Appliances & Cabinetry was a company recommended to me but looking for a few others. Thanks in advance.

I appreciate each of your responses. Re: Ammunition Depot, is the ammo you are referring to this? LINK
Where do you all typically buy your ammo? I just bought my first handgun and for training at the range have bought ammo from Academy for ~24 cents/round in 50 to 200 round boxes. However, based on this thread, it looks like the better deals are obtained through gun.deals for bulk ammo (and also look for the free shipping). Any other recs? Thanks

Business Backpack Recs

Posted by TygerB8 on 7/16/25 at 7:52 am
In a given week, I work from my home office half the time and work from company office the other half. I'm looking for a reliable backpack that can hold a 15” laptop, 16” portable monitor, peripherals (laptop/monitor battery and cables, mouse) and have room for other misc. items (multiple notepads, calculator, pens/pencils, phone chargers). I appreciate any backpack recs that others have. Thanks!
Hi,

My mom (late 60s) is looking to purchase a handgun for personal protection but wants to take safety classes first and hopefully try different guns as well as part of that process. Does anyone have instructor recommendations I can give her? She is located in the southwestern part of Lafayette Parish.

Thanks

Pigeon Forge - Recs

Posted by TygerB8 on 5/3/25 at 7:29 pm
We are going to Pigeon Forge at the end of this month and want to do white water rafting and ride UTVs in the Smokey Mountains. There are a lot of online companies to choose from but hoping someone here can provide recommendations.

Thanks!

This happened to me a few yrs back. One of the diaphragms on the aerator pump was ruptured. I bought a kit at a hardware store to repair (~$100) as opposed to spending 2 to 3x the amount for a new pump. The video below shows how to repair diaphragm.

New SUV Tires - Lafayette Area Recs

Need to buy complete set of tires, including install, for my daughter’s Honda CRV. Need recommendation for service in Lafayette area. Thanks!
Thanks! I just went back and got the price adjusted.
Damn I was just there around 10:30 and bought 4 bags of the preemergent for 50%off. I never saw that sign. I’m going to stop back and see if they will adjust the price.
Thanks for the info! And to others in this thread with tips. Looks like I'll be busy this morning taking care of this.

re: Pool prep

Great info in this thread!

When you say “spitters”, I assume this is slang for deck jets? If so I ran my deck jets during the last freeze a few yrs back and my issue was making sure the wind didn’t blow the water all over the deck, and freeze over the jet opening. I’m thinking about taking an air compressor and blowing out water from the deck jet exhaust side ( LINK)and then covering each opening with a heavy bag of mulch or something. I’d appreciate what others are doing with similar water features.

I’m also going to do like a few others said and put a heavy blanket/tarp over equipment pad .

(I’m in South Lafayette area)
Same here. I’ve used TurboTax for 20yrs and will try freetaxusa this year

24/7 is what I was told by the pool builder a few yrs ago. I have a variable speed pump that is always on low unless using the pool’s water features.
