as beneath you as this comes across- these parts of the job are actually some of the areas where you can provide care and still protect and ensure for a patient's dignity and make them feel ok to need help.

god forbid you actually hold a job whose crux is serving people when they are the most vulnerable.
OH, so now YOU care.

The posts have been all "frick the families for caring", but now Florence Nightingale here is the savior?

No, I was talking to one person who acts like he is the life or death cog in the medical profession. "If you don't like it take them home." Better idea, if he doesn't like it. He can quit.

I wasn't around here during covid, but there are things that I like about my healthcare job and things that I don't. But because I am a grown arse adult, I take it all with a grain of salt and show up, take care of pts and the increasingly audacious family members and walk out knowing that my integrity is intact.

What is it that makes you two so unprincipled? It’s like y’all have the mood swings of menopausal women and can’t keep a hint of consistency

not liking a-hole karen family members- which I have experienced a growing number to this subset of the hospital population in my specific area, and taking excellent care of my patients are concepts that are not mutually exclusive concepts.

I have not gone on a diatribe nor spewed politically correct bullshite. I simply stated that you wishing covid protocols back because some family members of ill patients make your life more difficult is disgusting.

People died without their loved ones next to them, in isolation, scared, and you wished to bring that environment back because some, not most, not all, were rude to you.

I know. I was there. and what you may not realize is that A LOT OF US allowed families to 'sneak in' against policy to be with their loved ones.

The sheer number of deceased people that I placed in body bags during covid will never be far from my memory. So do I miss the death and devastation from covid no- but do I detest the unprecedented audacity of people post covid- hell yeah I do.

I am capable of possessing both mindsets.

I'm a teacher and I sometimes work the gate at our high school football games and we - like the vast majority of other schools - have a strict no reentry (without paying) policy. You should see how some of these adults will act and lie so that they can leave and re-enter without paying. You want to know why most of these people want to leave? To go smoke or take a drink (alcohol). While most people are nice, mature, and follow the rules, there are a few who are trashy a-holes.

Another stupid government policy. I forgot my phone, just walked in the gate, turned around, ran & grabbed it. They tried to charge me again. frick that. I already paid. But I didn't act like a childish fool, I just quietly went to sit and watch the game.

Some of us aren't smoking and drinking. Some of us just forgot our phone or something else & aren't trying to cause problems.

This policy is nothing more than a racket to make more money, with that bullshite excuse you used.

I’ve always said this. I did a stint in retail when I was younger. Learned how to deal with people.

Disagree. For every 1 person like you with a legit excuse, there are 20 going to smoke or drink.

If you would have simply made any kind of effort to communicate to gate guards what just happened this would have been no issue.

No, but black people take a special delight in fricking with white employees when they know whitey can't hit back.

I had two retail jobs: Camelot music in high school and Blockbuster Video in college. That Blockbuster job had me drinking nightly because of how shitty the citizens of Covington/Mandeville can be to workers, not to mention the added stress from office corporates making life worse for the grunts on a sinking ship.
