Klfy
Oh my — how does this happen. I know the storm progressed quickly but was there time to evacuate them?

That’s wild but why isn’t he cleaning up / I repairing the ship instead of huddling in the quarters?

Apparently Biden was in charge of the evacuation......

Pretty piss poor. Noble may get sued. I'm sure someone could claim ptsd from that. And probably will

Not a clue. Maybe they don’t have repair necessities?
I think I just have Seacor Power in mind — there are still 7 bodies unrecovered. We don’t need that on the scale of 100 — idk anything about these boats but it was taking on water. Can that be pumped off?
There were guys in the hurricane thread admitting they hiding in bathrooms panicking — and they were on land. I can not fathom being in the Gulf.

Although four people rode it out in a tug in either Fourchon or GI area — coworker of theirs says they’re fine in the big thread.

Leaving them out there with 80 foot waves and 150+ mph winds that resulted in injuries will mean lawsuits for whoever made the call not to evacuate.

Because they measured an 82 foot sea on their wave radar. You’d be dead if you went outside

Between seacorps and this, it's about time for the long hand of regulation to reach offshore.

45 years ago, I was one of 10 that remained on a platform rig to secure it for an approaching hurricane.
Winds were getting scary when the biggest helicopter I had ever seen (two rotors) pulled us out of there.
That was on a reasonably stable Cactus Drilling platform rig. I can't imagine having to be on that drill ship.
Yeah, I'd cry too.

Is that too far out for the Coast Guard?

Very poor planning by Noble/Shell.
I bet the fatcats with both of those companies were safe and sound sleeping in their beds while the 100 crew were living through a recreation of the perfect storm movie in real life.
Really no excuse for this with modern communications, helicopters, GPS, and radar.

Another crew member on board the Noble Globetrotter II drill ship tells News Ten he believes people were left aboard the vessel and left in harms way for no other reason than the expense of removing them and bringing them back once operations were ready to continue.
He added that they are still on the ship waiting for anyone to come and bring them home.
If true these will be very rich people. Oh, and I would kick someone's arse.

Really no excuse for them not to disconnect and get to safer harbor. I mean they're a ship, not stationary..

Sure there is. Money. Keep that bitching running till the last minute, when even heli pilots tell you to frick off, they're not flying in that shite.

They started pulling the riser too late and got caught. No reason for what’s happen, absolutely none. At the end of the day this is on the captain. They lost the LMRP and the riser is hanging on by a thread. Now it’s taking on water. Everyone should be off today.
As previously mentioned it’ll eventually come out that they were trying to catch up on a deadline.
And oh- the mud engineer that’s still on the ship told me they estimated waves to be 84’
