Russia doesn’t want any of that fight. Iran isn’t important enough for them to get into a shooting war with the US. Then all of NATO joins the fight and Russia is likely to be invaded from Europe by NATO allies while simultaneously trying to fight the US in Iran and defend from our missile and airstrikes. China would just use an Iran-US conflict to flex their muscle in the Pacific and Asia while the US is preoccupied

I’d think this was a response to the attempted break in of the embassy.
I don’t think Trump is trying to distract from impeachment. On the contrary, I think he will draw as much attention to it as possible.

This is such a multi pronged event that effect not only Iran but Iraq Lebanon and Syria.
