Yeah, but he was taken out by hair bands, not air strikes

Reports coming in that the US just killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimaniquote: Congress authorized military force in Iraq, and this Guy was the leader of a terrorist group actively carrying out attacks against Americans in the combat zone. That's an extremely slippery slope. So, we just need a member of a foreign state to visit Iraq and we can kill them?
Yes if they are there "visiting" and coincidentally organizing active military strikes against U.S. citizens on our sovereign soil.

an you point me to another incident where the White House ordered a military strike against a military leader of a country we haven't declared war on?
Oh just about anyone killed in the Vietnam "conflict" if you want to split hairs.

Absolutely ignorant that we left this psychotic fricker in power for 40 years, and when he finally becomes more moderate we sponsor his removal.
The dude was calling for the unity of palestine and israel...

He also warned about Libya being “the cork in the bottle” to the Med, and the refugee crisis that would come about with a failed state.
Psycho? You bet, but how we didn’t learn our regime change lesson over there still floors me. shite, HRC went on a Mao pant suit victory tour claiming responsibility for everything short of calling in bomb coordinates after he was killed.
That’s when she made that asinine Ghostbusters quote.

The guy saw exactly what was going on in relation to his country on the global scale.
One of the few Arab nations that viewed women as equal.
He was a nut job militant terrorist... Who also happened to be a genius and realized too late in life moderation was the key.

Well, that's the loophole isn't it? Once labeled a terrorist, it's fair game.

You might have an argument if it wasn't for the fact Soleimani was, you know, actually a terrorist.

He’s not completely wrong. Iran has a large secular faction that would be a strong ally of the US if not for the hardliner Islamic faction. They have a democratically elected president, but he doesn’t hold much power in their governmental framework. The Supreme Leader and his counsel hold more power, especially with foreign policy.
So no, Iran will never be a US ally with their current governmental framework. And that framework isn’t changing anytime soon, especially after last nights events. The Ayatollah is going to use it to rally nationalist support
All of this.
The average Iranian is good people. Unlike the average Saudi or Arab.
Iran is actually a very westernized country compared to most of the Middle East. They just have a government hijacked by theocratic extremists. Most Iranians are tired of their shite and want peace with the US and the westernized world.
I mean, think about all the stupid shite our government does, all the insert three-letter agency here black ops that the average American disagrees with.

this is a humongous thing that just happened, but its not going to lead to a war. at least not one where full scale invasions are taking place

If only Obama had done something besides treasury sanctions when this guy plan a failed attack on US soil (sanctions were more than made up for with billions in untraceable US cash he gave Iran later). On top of Kerry being friends with high ranking official and Obama allowing a leader of the Iran supported Baghdad brigade to visits White House (who also was part of recent breach in Our embassy in Iraq). This from the man who called ISIS the junior varsity terrorists and not a concern.
2011
In 2015 after Soleimani goes to Russia ignoring his international travel ban. We talk more diplomatic agreements ultimately giving them billions and watching as they immediately pushing back against agreement.
Obama aided and abetted Iran and gave untraceable US cash to fund their state sponsorship of terrorism. His withdrawal in Iraq at a speed and amount faster & larger than original plan just to put his stamp on it created a vacuum requiring help from Iran and it's sponsored brigades in Iraq even after they had killed American soldiers (and continued killing Americans and just breeched our embassy). His redline in Syria became pink when Putin and Iran made him bend over.
Obama also gave stand down order around summer of 2016 instead of countering Russian hackers probing and messing with election infrastructure. Obama had a man crush on Putin and probably thought probing was just Putin flirting.
Obama reset relationships with Russia and Iran making the US weaker relative to them.

Designated today pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13224 for acting for or on behalf of the IRGC-QF were: Manssor Arbabsiar, a naturalized U.S. citizen holding both Iranian and U.S. passports who acted on behalf of the IRGC-QF to pursue the failed plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador; IRGC-QF commander Qasem Soleimani;

You mentioned Mr. Soleimani.
He, in particular, is someone who has been subject to U.S. sanctions for quite some time because of the effort that he has undertaken to support terrorist organizations around the world.
And again, I can’t confirm these specific reports, but it is an indication of our ongoing concerns with Iran and their behavior and, in the mind of the President, makes it all that more important that we pursue the best available strategy to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. And that’s exactly what the President believes this diplomatic agreement is.

They should be our allies. It really was about how we helped prop up the old government, so when this one did their revolution, they needed to paint us as the bad guys and based a large part of their prestige on it.
