That’ll happen when your local DA office and fellow law enforcement actively try to sweep it under the rug and get caught.

One of the most adamant claimed he used to be a general contractor and acted like this never happened. Even repeatedly accusing people of lying when they said they did.
Yeah it's pretty weird. I've done this my entire life (I did it with my dad when we were kids). And I'm from an urban/suburban background, so it's not like we lived in the middle of nowhere.

How are the gunmen connected to the owner of the construction property?
They aren't.

How many of those people attacked a man holding a shotgun? Only one probably.

But admittedly, there is some evidence that he does jog (witness account) and regardless, there certainly isn't enough to deem the headline "lying"
It shouldn’t be hard for authorities to determine if he was a regular jogger and where he jogged although I don’t know how much it means legally.

Whether he was stealing or not seems pretty irrelevant to me. You can't chase someone down and shoot them because you saw them take your bike.

Who knows how anyone will respond, but it’s called FIGHT or flight for a reason, and they were doing their best to prevent the FLIGHT response.

the blowhard evangelical christian making excuses for a murder, shocking!

I guess I don't know the full story. Aren't the gunmen claiming they had video of this guy trespassing? How would they know this if they have no connection the the property.

But you should be able to! A thief's life is worth less than the can of Skoal I keep in my back pocket. We should deport anyone convicted of a felony. No second chances.

True. I don't think they were out to kill him but they did and we will see how this plays out.
Best thing they could've done is call the police if they thought something was amiss.

I couldn't believe there were a significant number of posters here who had no idea (and argued about it for several pages) that randos walking through houses under construction is a common occurrence.

I don't agree with anything they did but I like you only saw a 10 sec clip.
I also read the statement the shooters gave police that day and saw how the video contradicts some of it.
quote:
McMichael stated he and Travis got in the truck and drove down Satilla Drive toward Burford Drive. McMichael stated when they arrived at the intersection of Satilla Drive and Holmes Drive, they saw the unidentified male running down Burford drive. McMichael then stated Travis drive down Burford and attempted to cut off the male. McMichael stated the unidentified male turned around and began running back the direction from which he came and "Roddy" attempted to block him which was unsuccessful. McMichael stated he then jumped into the bed of the truck and he and Travis continued to Holmes in an attempt to intercept him.
McMichael stated they saw the unidentified male and shouted "stop, stop, we want to talk to you". McMichael stated they pulled up beside the male and shouted stop again at which time Travis exited the truck with the shotgun. McMichael stated the unidentified male began to violently attack Travis and the two men started fighting over the shotgun at which point Travis fired a shot and then a second later there was a second shot. McMichael stated the male fell face down on the pavement with his hand under his body. McMichael stated he rolled the man over to see if the male had a weapon.

IMO it doesn't mean a lot legally, because this is a story of vigilante idiots and whether they had good reason for their suspicion probably doesn't matter much considering how this saga ended. It does matter for the public narrative, because the public should know what the truth is given that the media/others will lecture us on this being a brazen racial killing.
I agree that the authorities should have a good idea on the topic.

I think they were coached on what to say in the police report never thinking the video would see the light of day

How many of them were chased down and had to confront a roadblock of armed hillbillies?

The elder McMichael was on the phone with a 911 operator during the shooting
He was also on the phone with 911 as he spotted someone in the house on Feb 11th
