Inviting total strangers, even for a fee, to come use my pool and incur the risk of one of them suing me if/when they inevitably get hurt doing something stupid while drunk (I doubt many are renting pools to have a "sober" party) doesn't sound like fun. Instead, I'll just continue to invite the people I want to come to my pool. People who are less likely to sue me if they get hurt doing something dumb.

The majority probably financed the pool like everything else they are over extended on a trying to make some quick cash. I would not let ransoms in my backyard

There is zero chance I’m renting out my pool.

From Reddit;A poster buried in the comments mentions that the liability insurance they include is void if alcohol is being consumed. That's a huge loophole for you to get screwed. Anyone ever go to an AirBnB with a group of people without a cooler full of alcohol?
Also people are dirty and will do nasty stuff like let their dogs swim. There's no way the headache is worth it.

I'm not sure what your homeowner's insurance would say about this. Essentially you would be turning your home into some type of commercial enterprise. I wouldn't be surprisied if this violates some clause somewhere.
If someone was hurt or drowned I wonder if the HO insurance policy would cover it.
